Color Cue {8} Spin-Off

Thanks to everyone for their lovely comments on my Color Cue {8} card in the previous post! While I still had Magical Moments on the brain and those striking colours, I was inspired to create another card with the same set. This time, I left out the green and used the two-step flower. One of my favourite things to do is use two-step stamps in contrasting colours. I don't have a lot of stamp sets with this ability so I was happy that Dawn created this set with that option. I used the flower to create a pretty background and highlighted one of the sentiments on a white panel. I inked magical in red and the other two lines in black. Then I woodgrain impressed the sentiment and added black embroidery floss to provide balance against the bright white panel and busy background. I love how quick, easy and fun this was!

I hope everyone's been enjoying their weekend! It's been sunny and cool here, the perfect fall weekend. Yesterday was pretty stressful for us since we had to make a decision on a house in five hours between the listing, the viewing and finding out that another buyer had already made an offer. Needless to say, we couldn't do it and walked away. Better luck next time, eh? Hubby and I are going out for a date this afternoon, our first in a very looong time! Talk to you all soon. :)

Oh! I had such high hopes that you'd found a house! But that's way too big a life-changing decision to have to make under such time pressure.
As to the card... wow! The bg is stunning (and yes, I DO need to break my kraft cs out more often!) and the sentiment so nicely balanced. Now, embroidery floss I could do... :P

Gorgeous card Emily...and wow on the house. I am a big believer that what is meant to be is meant to be...if your gut was to walk away...that was the right thing to do and you'll find another house soon!

Whew! Bummer on the house thing. Are you sure you don't wanna move here? You'd have the pick of the litter, so to speak :)
And the card is really cool, of course -- I love how the white die-cut pops on the kraft bg. Great stamping skillz, too, to get all those little flowers placed so perfectly.

Aw, man, sorry about losing the house! I don't think I would be able to make a decision that big in five hours, either.

That is a gorgeous card you made! I thought the bottom panel was patterned paper at first-what a fabulous stamping job! I love the color cue colors you used, and that accent of black is just perfect.

Hope you had an awesome date with your hubby!!
