Birthday Balloons

Wow, I can't believe it's been four days since my last post. I feel guilty, like I've abandoned all of you!! It hasn't been quiet on my end though. I've been busy 'sublicating' (making cards for publication calls) and I had a very nice Easter weekend with my family. I hope all of you did, too! This is a card I had submitted for the 2011 Stamping Royalty Card Contest. The winners were all announced last week and since I didn't win, I can now share this card.

This card uses an image and sentiment from Unity's The Best is Yet To Be. It was made in my favourite clean and simple style. I stamped the image and sentiment, shaded the balloons with Copic markers and added a glossy accent to the balloons. I'm not sure how I could've made it any better and in my opinion it's still great but with at least 2300 entries... at least one lucky hero is going to get to send this to someone he or she loves. Anyway, I was excited to read that Cristina Kowalczyk won with a one-layer card so maybe I'll have better luck next year. ;)

A big thank you to all of you who have left comments for me in the past couple of weeks. I'm still trying to catch up but I'll be around to visit all of your blogs soon! Thanks for sticking with me!! See you on Tuesday for a very special blog hop with prizes!

Well Emily, I love everything you make, whether they hit the big times or not! And this is a gorgeous card, and I especially love the glossy balloons! I have still not inked mine up, it's something abou tthe balloon strings not being straight that is stopping me somehow, I know, I am just weird all round sometimes! Happy Easter to you and your family!

Well this just seems like royalty to me! Love the glossy balloons and your perfect CAS style.

Remember absence makes the heart grow fonder, so don't feel like you've abandoned us (because what would that say about me and how often I update my blog?!?). :)

I love the glossy balloons, perfect for a fabulous white card. You're not suppose to feel guilty about not blogging silly girl... Enjoy the hobby and you'll get a tiara soon enough, even if you make it for yourself out of twine.

How could this not have won?! After seeing this, I feel like I should forfeit my one-layer crown! Sosososo cute. But then again, I love everything you do. Thanks for the shout-out and for the sweet comment on my blog. Sending you many happy, glossy-accented thoughts!
