Lily at the Beach Gift Set + Follower Giveaways

WARNING: This is an ultra long post but it'll be worth it when you reach the end. I promise! :)

In honour of the milestone I reached in having 300 Followers, the owners of two of my design teams have agreed to sponsor giveaways here on my blog! Nicole from The Twinery has generously offered one Ultimate Colorful Sampler Pack which includes all 14 colours of The Twinery's gorgeous baker's twine (that's right, the three new colours, too) and Melissa from Pink Cat Studio has generously offered five digital stamps of the winner's choice!!

The Ultimate Colorful Sampler Pack includes ALL 14 of The Twinery's baker's twine, including the three newly released colours.

These are my 12 favourite Pink Cat Studio digis but the winner will be able to choose her five favourites from the Pink Cat Studio Digi Store.

First of all, it boggles my mind that I have more than 300 Followers but I appreciate that each and every one of you loves my work enough to follow me. I love it when you leave comments because it allows me to visit your blogs in return to be inspired myself and I love the friendships that have grown from that. I also love the lurkers that quietly admire my work. ;) I'm very flattered and I don't take any of my blog's success for granted. I think I work hard to please and I hope you think so, too!

Secondly, I'd like to thank The Twinery and Pink Cat Studio for this opportunity to give you all a chance to win their fabulous products because without it, I wouldn't be able to create some of my cutest and most beautiful projects. As you all know, Pink Cat Studio was the very first design team I had the privilege of joining and Melissa gave me that opportunity to shine and hone my colouring and fussy cutting skills! Of course, The Twinery was my second design team a year and a half later and I have to stop myself from using their amazing baker's twine on everything I make.

Before we get to the details on winning these fabulous giveaways, how 'bout some cards using both Pink Cat Studio stamps and The Twinery's luscious baker's twine? That was pretty much a given, right? ;) I used the Color Throwdown #152 colours for this set of cards which I'm giving to my ex-boss, Pam, for her birthday. I used every single stamp in Pink Cat Studio's large rubber set Lily at the Beach for this gift set. It's the perfect theme for Pam since she loves the beach and vacations in Hawaii twice every year!

Here are a couple of close ups. You can click on any of the photos to enlarge them. I'm getting used to this stamping but no colouring technique. It scares me a little because I'm always thinking, "Does it look complete? The image looks naked!" Either way, it's a good experiment and I like it more each time I do it.

After the cards were made, I packaged them with their respective envelopes inside Crystal Clear Bags. The ones I buy are both biodegradable and compostable which I love, plus they happen to be cheaper than the ones that aren't! As shown in THIS post, I alternate the cards to reduce bulk before stacking them. Then I prepare the tag for final twine wrapping.

I used the very last stamp in the set, which is the sun. I fussy cut a pink version and punched a small hole to string the twine through.

After wrapping the twine around the package and bringing the ends to the front, I put the twine through to the back of the tag and tie a bow.

When the bow is complete, flip the tag down and attach the front of it with foam tape, covering up the punched hole. Ta da!

Okay, so here's how the giveaway will work:

(a) Be a Follower.
(b) Leave a comment on this post.
(c) Let me know which one of my projects for The Twinery is your favourite and
(d) Let me know which one of my projects for Pink Cat Studio is your favourite. (You can use the Labels cloud on my sidebar to browse by category.)
(e) Optional: Let me know if there's anything you've never seen from me and why you'd like to see me attempt it. Wow, that could be dangerous! LOL

You have until Friday, August 5th 11:59 p.m. EST to enter. I will announce the two winners on Saturday, August 6th. One winner will receive The Twinery's Colorful Bunch Sampler Pack and one winner will receive five digital stamps of the winner's choice from Pink Cat Studio. The winners must contact me via email by Tuesday, August 8th 11:59 p.m. to claim their prize or (an)other winner(s) will be drawn.

Thank you so much for your continued support!!!

You are such a sweetie! OF course we love your work and you really inspire me with all your CAS creations :>) I am liking your non-colored creations of late!
Soooo I am a follower, I am commenting and my favorite projects are the tree card that was a fave on SCS last year for PCS and the one with all the scarves made out of twine for the Twinery. If you want me to go back and find the original posts let me know (hee, hee, hee). Honestly all your creations are Fab-u-lous and I picked the first 2 that came to mind!!!
Hmmm, as for the optional, I would love to see you create a card with 5 layers - I would add 5 different PP to that, but layers might be enough of a challenge ;>)

Em--these are super duper cute! I love that you combined pink/red twine together and used a kraft base! LOOOOOOOOVE your creations:) SUPER DUPER cute!!!

Hello kitty on the go twinery card is one of my absolute favorites. I just love how you used the twine and of course I love Hello Kitty. The other favorite is kitty and Sweet Bird...so cute. Congratulations on having 300 followers. I really do enjoy you creativity. Thanks for the fun giveaway.

Congrats on 300 followers!! Woo hoo... favorite projects... good question. I think your popsicle people we bought a house card is one that sticks out in my mind... and I loved your Pink Cat St Patty's day cards.

I'm already a follower, but I just gotta say that I LOVE your projects because of how clean they look. I'm starting to get back into the cleaner, simpler designs because they are really pleasing to the eye ... haha, or at least to my eye.

I absolutely got a kick out of the tags you made for the twine that looked like scarves for all the ladies! I think most NYers wear their scarves like that (and they're worn scarves all the time it seems for fashionable reasons, not necessarily for warmth!), so I thought it was funny that they were wearing them that way too! I'm not sure if that counts as a project-project, so if not, the other one I absolutely loved was your recent card where the entire flower was made out of twine! Just WOW.

The Pink Cat Studio project I like the most is the card you made for Melissa's birthday blog hop. I loved that you fit in all the fairies on the kraft cardstock. I always put just ONE image on a card, and I never think to add more. I love that they're all there, but they still each pop out and shine because of the fact that it's on kraft. Plus, I really loved how your son asked for the "stamp wo-wo!" I purchased one of the dinosaur value pack of digis, and those are the only ones I have at this moment. I'm excited to see who wins the digi prize because I love PCS and am always looking on the site for images I want but shouldn't buy just yet!

Love these cards sets Emily! Congratulations on the number of followers, so glad I found your blog so long ago...
Let's see, my favorite projects...hmm, well, I'm rather fond of the PCS card that your son did but if I had to choose one you did it would be with the cute deer and the tree behind it-you mean everything to me. I'm a sucker for deers. And I loved the simplicity of your Twinery Cards with the Paper Smooches sentiments-the shaped cards with a touch of color?
Congratulations again, look forward to a lot more good things from you!

Hi Emily,

I'm not surprised you have gained so many followers! You always create something fresh and new and for me personally, I totally loooove your clean and fresh style!! that's why it could be fun to challenge you to make a vintage looking card, or a layer-card! :-D My fave The Twinery card is easy, that was the 'We bought a house' card, those posickle dolls are perfect and sooo much fun!!! The Oink Cat fave is a bit less easy, 'cause I love a lot of the, your use of these stamps is just perfect!!! I don't really use digi's myself, I must admit, 'cause I don't have a printer of which I'm pleased with the quality, but looooove your cards with these stamps! Okay, I picked two faves that are on my phone, as 'I like'! ;-) They are 'Hoo hoo' owl card and 'Happy thoughts', with a girl in the window of a castle, she's sooo cute!!
Congratulations on your 305 followers!! And hope to enjoy many, many more of your cards!!!

Hugs, Wendy

Congrats Emily...I love seeing your takes stamps and images..
My favorite projects..have to be the twine scarves, the last post (happy to know you).
Pink cat studio..oh where to begin..i might be partial to the father's day card you made for your husband and the girl swinging on the heart (February post)

And if I had to ask you to try something...asking you to try loads of layers and pattern papers would be fun!! :) (I know I'm wicked!!)

Angela said...

Oh, Em, way to go! That's a lot of fans -- I'm proud to be among them :)
I can't truly pick a favorite, so I'm taking the easy way out: my fave for BOTH categories is the awesome Get-Well-Simon card with the twine cast that you made with Linds -- I'm looking at it right now!
You already know what my answer is to (e): get on the scrappy bandwagon already! ;)

Karin said...

Such fun creative blog candy Em! So hard to pick a fave tho :) I love the little Gnome couple with the I never want to live without you sentiment...It's sooooo Sweet! And the twine card I'm picking is the watering can (I think it's a Unity stamp) and it is pouring rainbow colored twine...So cool! Congrats on all the followers too :)

(a) done! Can you believe it was just over a year ago when you were giving away blog candy if you reached *25* followers?!?! You have really grown into your own style over the past year and I'm always amazed at how you keep making such creative cards!
(b) Uh, see above. ;)
(c) I love my Unity girls with their twine scarves--although is that being biased since I own them? Ok, ok, I also love your twine wreath that you made
(d) I have to go with the perfect cat get well card!
(e) I would like to a completely over-the-top layered patterned-paper five-pound card...or, on second thought, maybe you should just stick with your fabulous style! :)

Jessica Diedrich said...

I have to agree w/ a lot of what I'm seeing w/ the scarves :) Those were AMAZING_ and these are awesome too- I LOVE how you didn't color the image- I am seeing that more and more lately and I think I like it! I don't want to be eligible for the giveaway of course, but just wanted to stop by and say CONGRATS girlie! I'm a follower for a while now and I love your work!

btenn said...

Congratulations on your following! And thanks so much for a chance at blog candy once again! You know I love your blog and I have been following you since you started, and I still love it! You've done an amazing job at continually inspiring (not only me, but all 300 followers ;))

How to choose a favourite - the twine favourite was a set of greeting cards, nestie shaped, white with only one large sentiment stamped in black on it (Paper Smooch stamps) and tied with twine on the side. Stunning!

For PCS - I must love CAS, or at least the way you create it, so yes, a PCS stamp with Lily holding a set of flowers and a Happy Father's Day sentiment below her feet. I think it must be your colouring and the simple way you have for CAS, because it is always gorgeous! The white background cards always bring out your beautiful colouring skills and the cards turn out simply stunning!

Thank you!

Hugs,
B

You are always so clever in the way you incorporate twine onto your cards. One of my faves is from the Unity Blog Hop back in June when you used different colours of twine coming out of a watering can, very creative design. Love the PCS pet card you made using the Kitty and Sweet Bird Silhouette. I love cats!

Jennifer Roach said...

Thanks for the chance to win. Well, I already follow your blog and have for a while and I love your style and how you incorporate the twine and or use stamps in way more innovative ways than I ever think. For the Twinery projects I loved how you used it for scarfs on the unity people stamps and I'm a huge fan of the gnome projects for Pink Cat :)

You know, Emily, I think my favourite project is the same for both - the kitty with the twine cast, for Simon the poor kitten. Of course I've got the softest touch for PCS, and I'm continually in awe of your creative uses for twine :)
And of course I'm a follower (stalker, whatev...lol), and gee, something I want to see you attempt? I can't even imagine! If I come up with something I'll let you know :)
Last but not least, I love this card set - especially the idea of stamping in non-black (I never think to do that for the focal image) and then not colouring. You're making me want to try it!

Emily, your work is fabulous and I love your blog. I have been a follower for a while, at least you pop up in my google reader. I clicked on the "Follow" button to make it official.

It is too hard to pick favorite projects, but I will give it a try.

For the Twinery, I love all the fun, creative and unexpected ways you use twine (like the cat's cast, the lady bug's body) but my favorite is 6-10-11 projects will the knots made from the twine.

It is also hard to pick a Pink Cat Studios project. I love your clean designs and use of white space. My favorite is probably the card you made for Melissa's birthday with all the images.

I love the twinery and found your blog through them. Happy to be your newest follower! You projects are so cute, hard to choose, but I love all that colorful twine.

I'm a new follower of your blog. I haven't seen everything you've done, but I think my favorite of your twine projects is the cards you did with DiscountCardstock.com found here: http://leiphartonart.blogspot.com/2011/07/twinery-discountcardstockcom-blog-hop.html

And in the Pink Cat Studio I like the Forest Animals. I like the way you make your cards 3-dimensional.

These are so adorable! I'm liking your uncoloured stamping trend and these images are perfect for it. :)
