Ahoy, Birthday Boy

My best friend's son is turning four tomorrow and he loves pirate-anything so I thought it would be fun to cut up a lot of Echo Park's Little Boy Collection and make this card for him. This is a lot of layers, much more than my usual style, but I had so much fun with it.

It's always nice to work outside of clean and simple once in a while. The design may not be perfect but sometimes it's nice to let go and not worry about that. All the stamps and dies used on this card are by Papertrey Ink and the Lemondrop baker's twine is from The Twinery. I used a quadruple knot and double string.

Surprise! I even decorated the inside. I thought the 'brave' sentiment would go really well with the pirate theme and the '4' looks like a ship, doesn't it? The waves are hand-cut and I left a lot of white space because I tend to write novels inside my cards. :)

I hope you're enjoying a lovely fall weekend!

Wow, if someone didn't read carefully, they might think you'd made two cards! The inside could definitely stand on its own as a CAS card. What a great sentiment, too. The outside is awesome, and I love the sailboat paper!
