Paper Crafts magazine Presents: Card Creations, Volume 11 Blog Hop!

Hello and welcome to the Card Creations, Volume 11 Blog Hop! Have you seen the latest must-have special issue from Paper Crafts magazine? This is my second year being published in this annual issue and I'm delighted to be one of the 12 designers featured on today's hop:

Emily Leiphart

For this blog hop, the designers were asked to create a project using one of the ten digital sentiments available for download HERE

I chose the lovely 'With Love & Caring' sentiment, sized it to 2" wide and printed it directly on to the card base. Then I die cut the Duo Dies 1 frame from Paper Smooches and adhered it to the card with foam tape. To create the flowers, I die cut the Reflections Graphics Dies and set them aside. The Reflections Flowers Dies were die cut from natural sticky-back canvas and misted with two blues, gold and shine. I used a heat tool to speed up the drying process because I'm impatient. Haha. Then I applied a multi medium to stiffen and hold the shape I wanted which was curled petals. I couldn't use the heat tool here since it flattened the canvas. After they were completely dry, I assembled the flowers and embellished them with gold sequins and pearls. To finish the card, I adhered the leaves and flowers to the frame.

All of the designers on this hop are giving away a copy of Card Creations, Volume 11 so be sure to leave a comment at each stop to increase your chances of winning a copy of this amazing issue! You have until 11:59 pm MST on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 to comment. Please come back on Wednesday to find out if you are the lucky winner of Card Creations, Volume 11 from my blog. Have a lovely weekend and thank you so much for stopping by today!

Your next stop is my sweet and talented friend Karolyn's blog!

I'm so grateful to see how the free digi images are used. I haven't done any digital cardmaking, so seeing the sentiments "in action" is so helpful. You've made it look like I can do it, too! ;-) Printing the sentiment onto the card base and popping up the frame is an ideal solution to one of the many puzzling questions I've had about how to make the best use of digital images. The diecut flowers and leaves, topped with the extra embellishing, really make this a stunner.

Absolutely gorgeous, Emily! I love how the flowers turned out - waiting for the medium to dry would have been my downfall for sure...fingerprints everywhere!
