{Paper Smooches} Sending Hugs and Prayers

I put this card in the mail today to help a dear friend pay it forward to a lovely lady who had a stroke and is now in a rehabilitation centre. I hope it brings her a smile. I made it for a publication call but it wasn't accepted. This was the first time I had tried a freestyle collage card. I'm not exactly sure how to define the style but the idea was to just throw together a cluster of different shapes and textures. Maybe it's a little heavy but I love all the colours and prints together. What do you think? Have you given this style a try? I'm definitely going to give it another shot.

I hope you're all having a great week so far!

Gorgeous card Emily and what a wonderful cause to use it.

Speaking as someone who works in a rehab centre with people who've had strokes, I think this works. After a stroke, there can be a sense of disintegration and sensory overload, with things looking different than before (think of Oliver Sachs). So although this is a busy card, it does have a sense of vitality and regeneration. LOVE the cork flower--great texture and "organic-ness."

I don't make cards but I love, love, love collage...so,I like what you've done. I tend toward more vibrant colors but actually it just depends on what's handy. I don't plan it out. Keep going.

So much texture! I really love it. I think it's still so very you - lots of open space with all those elements :)
