{Hero Arts} Think Happy Thoughts

This card represents something deep and meaningful to me. I'm going through a grieving process that never happened last year due to various interruptions and I've been struggling with it these past few months. It's part of the reason why my presence in blogland has been nearly non-existent but that is going to change soon enough. I will share that story eventually. For now, the tears would be too much. I specifically ordered the Hero Arts Life Can Be and My Words stamp sets because they touched me in a profound way. I paired them up with two older sets, Etched Flower and Brilliant! to create a collage card I can display to remind myself that time heals if I let it.

I created two phrases for this card using the words from My Words. I customized the word think by masking the word thing with the k from keep. Then I used the corners of the ink pads to paint Etched Flowers which is how I got a blend of pink and orange on the flowers.

I'm submitting this card to the Hero Arts Stamp Your Story Contest and I hope you will play along, too! The contest runs through June 30th and you can enter as many times as you like using any product from the Stamp Your Story Catalog.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

{Paper Smooches} Thanks, Teacher and Winner Announced!

My son finished junior kindergarten this past week. It seems like just yesterday that he started school. He's grown and learned so much this year. I can't believe he will be turning five in about six weeks! Time really flies. We had already made a significant contribution to the class gift and my son wasn't willing to make her a card - disappointing but understandable since he made her so many during the school year - so I whipped up this card for his teacher. The lady is from Jive Turkey, and the ruler and sentiment are from Smarty Pants. I thought she'd appreciate big diamond earrings. ;)

Here's my winner from the June Paper Smooches DT Blog Hop on Thursday and that lucky lady is:

My card features the main superhero and one of the sentiments from a new stamp set called Super. I literally squealed and jumped up and down when I saw this set. It is so much fun and you are going to need this set in your Paper Smooches collection! I had a hard time containing my laughter as I created this card. I decided that the little farm boy from Green Acres was going to have a super day by turning into a superhero. LOL! The tornado is from Eco Friendly. I coloured two of the wood veneer chevrons with a red Copic marker.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Remember to check back here on Saturday to see if you are the lucky winner of the Super stamp set!
