Thanks for the Gift

These are the cards I made to thank everyone who sent or brought gifts to my son's 5th birthday party. I thought that a dozen was enough but it turns out that I had to make two more. The little guy wasn't too happy about having to sign 14 cards but I told him it had to be done and he persevered. I'll be making him write his first letter to Santa this year so he needs to start writing more. ;) He didn't quite understand why we had to send cards to everyone since we already thanked them at the party. I want to instill a sense of gratitude in him because people spend their time and money to come to his party and I think they appreciate it more when they receive a handwritten card. I also think that too few kids, and parents, do this nowadays. I know that I certainly appreciate it when people send me a card to say thank you!

Ever since Stampin' Up! released their new colours, I snatched up Smoky Slate. I've been waiting a long time for them to release a new light grey after they retired Going Gray. As you can tell by the card bases and the balloon strings, it's the most amazing neutral grey and I love that the ink looks like pencil!

My friend Ang got me completely addicted to this Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink. It's gorgeous and I love the shimmer so I've been using it whenever I can.

I used stamps and dies from Lil' Inker Designs for these cards. The balloons were stamped with the Balloon Builders Stamp Set and die cut with the Balloon Dies. The sentiments were stamped with the You're Invited Stamp Set.

I made both boy and girl versions and four different combinations altogether. It was fun to mix and match the balloons and sentiments. These didn't take too long to assemble which is a great thing when you have to make so many!

Matchy but not TOO matchy is a great way to speed up mass production. I LOVE how these turned out - and oh, how I'm familiar with the signing protest, lol :D

Great cards! Just right in terms of being easily mass producible, but still lots of interest and effort.
