{Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge} Let It Snow

Welcome to the second Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge in December! This week's challenge is Let It Snow. You can incorporate snowmen, snowflakes, snowfall, snow hills... pretty much anything snow-related!

I made two cards that feature snowflakes, but not in the traditional sense. I used white card bases but added texture and visual interest with die cutting and dry embossing. I created the same stack of glitter and vellum snowflakes using the Snowflakes dies from Paper Smooches for both cards. On the first card, it's a topper for the Shopping Bag die which contains a gift card for the recipient and, on the second card, it's a brooch for the sweater.

I stacked three sizes of snowflakes with a glittery gold snowflake on the bottom, a vellum snowflake in the middle and glittery silver snowflake on top. I die cut Holiday Cheer from the Christmas Words dies, ran them through my Xyron and stuck them to the top of the snowflake stack. I tied a bow with olive burlap string and attached it to the front of the Shopping Bag die before adhering the stacked snowflakes. I sponged the edges of the Shopping Bag with distress inks.

I used both the Femme Frames dies from Mama Elephant for the background. I placed the stitched rectangle on the card base with two tan embossing mats to make an impression. Then I die cut the scallop frame with the stitched rectangle die inside the scallop frame and adhered the resulting piece to the card base with a couple of vellum snowflakes tucked underneath in opposite corners.

I thought it would be fun to make a sweater card with the stacked snowflakes as a brooch. For people like me who love sweaters, this would be the ideal card. It would even be fun to make an ugly Christmas sweater! LOL

One winner will be chosen at random to win a $50 gift voucher to the awesome Simon Says Stamp Store!

It could be you!

I hope you will play along with us this week!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful Wednesday. :)
