Today, I'm featuring the Leafy Greens stamp set along with one of its coordinating dies, the Hickory Leaf Die. It's been a while since I made my own background so I decided to approach this in a way I hadn't done before. I die cut a bunch of the leaves and embossed them with a woodgrain folder. Then I embossed the background and adhered all the leaves in place. After finishing the background and adhering it to the card base, I die cut the banner from Flag Tag Dies and adhered two glittery chevrons from Hot Spots Small Set 1. I stamped the hickory leaf flat, adhered it to the banner and attached both to the textured base with foam tape. The sweet little sentiment is from Birthday Sampler, another one of the new releases this month.

Thinking back on the process, I realized that I probably could've created my background flat and put the entire piece in the embossing folder to save time. Ha! What a dodo moment. Next time I'll know better. I don't know if the impression would be the same but it would be good to try. I could save myself two hours or so. LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Remember to check back here on Saturday to see if you are the lucky winner of Leafy Greens!

{Paper Smooches} You're Sew Dang Cute

Kim is sharing this card on the Paper Smooches Blog today. It features a sentiment, leaf and stitched border stamps from Needle Little Love, as well as Big Bloom Dies and Reflections Graphics Dies which will be available on February 1st! First I stamped the stitched stem twice in brown and red inks to create a solid line. Then I die cut the three Big Bloom Dies from Basic Grey's Clippings paper pad, stamped the sentiment and crumpled them in my palm to create texture. I stamped the stitched leaf twice and fussy cut it. I also die cut one of the four leaves from the Reflections Graphics Dies twice and curled the ends to create background leaves. Finally, I adhered all the pieces to the stem to create my flower.

Thank you for stopping by today! See you on Thursday for the February release blog hop!!

{Paper Smooches} Cheer Up Grumpasaurus

Kim shared this card on the Paper Smooches Blog on Tuesday. It features stamps from Cuteasaurus and Reflections as well as two new dies which will be available for purchase on February 1st. The entire scene was created on a background die cut from the new Hot Spots Small Base Dies. I replaced the original palm leaves with a leaf from Reflections, stamped on one of the new Reflections Leaves Dies. I created the tulip by stamping the footprint on the back of the patterned paper, trimming it out and attaching a stem of olive burlap string. All of the fun patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye Away We Go paper pad.

Thanks for stopping by today! Only one week to go before you can purchase all the new Paper Smooches stamps and dies. Eeek!

The Farewell

And now for the sad news. This is my last release with the Lil' Inker Designs design team. Looking up at that long list of talented designers and friends, I can't even describe how much it hurts to say goodbye. However, I have been needing extra time for myself and this led to the difficult choice of having to give up one of my teams. This doesn't mean that one is better or more important than the other. Lil' Inker Designs has been so great to me and I will always be grateful for the amazing opportunities this team has brought me. Thank you, Laura!!
