{Crafts for Kids Video} Holiday Shaker Tag!

My son is my biggest fan and he's always wanted to make his own craft video! He needed a tag for his Dad's gift so this was the perfect opportunity. Plus, it's mostly narrated by him so you're in for a real treat!

We used a retired ornament tag die from My Favorite Things but you could easily substitute the Avery Elle Circle Tag. The Santa, penguin and heart are Mama Elephant products that my son wanted to feature on his tag.

He adores that little penguin and is so proud of his cool blue shading on it. Remember how much he loves penguins? ;)

Of course, my son also chose the red and white baker's twine.  I'm impressed that he unknowingly followed the rule of thirds by coordinating the string with the red on Santa and the penguin's heart!

This may be my most favourite post ever. Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love for my son! :)

Damian -- you and your mom made the best video ever! I love your tag, and I'm pretty sure you can color better than I can! I bet your Baba will love his gift. Make sure he sees the video, too. ;) Merry Christmas!

I smiled through your entire video, Damian! You color beautifully and are already a great crafter! Wish I had started when I was your age! I need to make some tags today, so I am hoping mine will be as beautiful as yours is! I bet your dad will treasure your tag, as well as your gift! Merry Christmas, Damian! Great job!

Oh, Emily! Do you realize how much Damien has learned from you? His language is very developed for a six year old. I am a retired first grade teacher, and I love to listen to children talk, teach, describe, explain, reason, and read. He did a perfect job in the video. I would include him more often. He sounds like the sweetest most respectful child. Merry Christmas to him from me. Tell him I was very impressed as I watched him color Santa. Excellent fine motor control.

Thank you so much for sharing this amazing video. It is heart warming to see how your love of art crafting has inspired your son. I had to double check that he said he was only 6. He is very skilled in the crafting and the commentary. It was so adorable to see shading techniques and hear phrases that I've come to associate with your very personal and inspiring videos. Also, big thumbs up for the Santa hat. I hope that you both continue to make wonderful memories of time spent creating together.

So that's officially awesome! D. did great work -- and he colours the same way you do! Next time I think he needs to die cut his own penguin, though. ;)
