{Ellen Hutson} Holiday 2015 Essentials by Ellen Release Hop

Hello, and welcome to the Holiday 2015 Essentials by Ellen Release Hop! I’m incredibly excited and honoured to be part of today's hop. I've created two cards showcasing several of the new stamp sets and dies available for purchase today!

My first card features the Elf'd stamp set and coordinating Elf'd dies. I thought it would be fun to create a candy wreath to display all the candy in this adorable and hilarious set!

I die cut the Laurel Wreath die four times and used distress inks and daubers to add colour in random areas. Then I misted the inks so they would blend together. After the wreaths dried, I cut them in half so I could create a bigger centre that would accommodate the sentiment.

The elf and candy were all coloured with Copic markers and the sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder à la Julie Ebersole. ;)

My second card features the Mistletoe & Holly stamp set and coordinating Mistletoe & Holly dies. I chose non-traditional ink colours for the poinsettia and berries, stamping first and then die cutting second.

I used the die cut flower and foliage to create a frame for the sentiment, which is nestled inside a frame created from the largest of the Mondo Poinsettia dies.

To complete the card, I tied black hemp cord around the base to anchor the flowers and scattered a few sequins inside the frame.

Giveaway!

And, yay!!! I also get to give away the Mistletoe & Holly stamp set to a lucky someone! All you have to do is leave a comment for your chance to win this gorgeous set! Please ensure that you leave your email address or have the "no reply" option disabled. You will have 48 hours to respond after I choose a winner or another winner will be chosen.

The fun begins in the CLASSroom and there is also a Grand Giveaway! To enter, be sure to leave a comment there, and at every stop along the hop by August 11th! Winners will be announced the following weekend.

Below, you'll find the entire Holiday 2015 Essentials by Ellen Release, as well as complete supply links for both my cards. Thanks so much for hopping with us!

Both card are lovely, I like the non-traditional look of the Poinsettia card but the wreath card is my favorite. I like the way you stacked the die cut wreaths not only to add dimension but to enlarge the space in the center of the card to incorporate a larger sentiment. Well done!

Ok. I'm risking sounding naughty now but, by far you have presented the best card design so far in the hop using the Mistletoe and Holly set of stamps and dies. I just adore the colors you used and the black die cut background is ground breaking. You have highlighted the set in an amazing light. Well done Emily. Now I must must win this set or else I guess I'll just have to buy it. Love it. T xx
