{Spellbinders} January 2018 Small Die of the Month

Happy New Year! I got to play with Spellbinders' January 2018 Small Die of the Month and it was so much fun. I had so many ideas, I didn't know where to start so I made three cards to give you an idea of the versatility of this little kit.

The first die I grabbed was the big leafy heart. It's perfect for a focal point and I was able to show it off here in two forms, just with the outline and also with the inside where I stamped the sentiment.

All sentiments on these cards are from a Hero Arts sentiment set called Dare to Dream. I love the encouraging words and the way they can be used individually or in combination to create new, longer sentiments like on this next card.

I used the round flower - one of three in this kit - and removed the stem from it by die cutting it twice, turning it so that the stem was cut off the second time for a blossom without a stem.

Then I used the sprig die and threaded the centre of the blossoms through the sprigs, adhering them to the card in a cluster and adding a bow.

For my third card, I used the heart arrow die, adhering several of them on a dark panel for some variation in the colour palette and embellished the hearts with enamel dots to match.

All black sentiments were heat embossed with sparkle embossing powder. I used the same six colours of cardstock to show how the same supplies can look different, in both masculine and feminine styles by adding different embellishments.

The January 2018 Small Die of the Month is available exclusively at Spellbinders. You can subscribe to the club to receive the die this month or you can wait until next month to purchase it individually without subscribing to the club.

Updated 08Jan18: The January 2018 Small Die of the Month is now sold out but you can still purchase this kit in combination with other kits in several Spellbinders Value Clubs.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
