Pigment Craft | October Release IG Hop + Giveaway!

It's release time at Pigment Craft Co. and I'm super excited to be joining one of my favourite companies for their October Release. This holiday release is spectacular and you're going to enjoy all of the new products. I'd love to hear your favourites!

I made two cards for this release, mixing and matching several sets on each card as I love to do. Plus, I had the pleasure of using the new inks in all the colours! I was sold on these inks from the first stamping and you won't be disappointed when you get them in your hot little hands.

I chose the deepest shades in each of the three colour families, while also using the lightest shades, to create bolder, richer holiday cards. If you're used to seeing the lightest shades take centre stage, you can see how different these 10 colours look in different combinations!

My first card focuses on the Tied Up With Love gift building stamp set and dies. Aren't those gifts just the cutest? I love the strings/ribbons so much! The gifts were stamped in Quince and Fig, then the strings were heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The snowflakes (stamped in Glow), small sprigs (stamped in Eucalyptus and Sage) and sentiment (stamped in Fir) are also from this stamp set.

The holly berries (stamped in Turmeric and Seagrass), are from the Berry Merry stamp set and dies, and the larger sprig is from the Festive Floral stamp set and dies. After stamping the sentiment in Fir, I used both pieces of the Bold Diagonal Stripe Stencil to dry emboss the panel.

My second card focuses on the Christmas Bouquet Outline stamp set, which is an absolute dream, especially when combined with the Christmas Bouquet Stamp and Stencil Bundle and coordinating dies. All of these products together create a large stunning image that looks like pre-printed ephemera!

I started by stamping the image in the lightest shade of grey. Then I used all 10 ink colours in the Pigment Palette via stamping or ink blending with the coordinating Christmas Bouquet Stamp and Stencil Bundle . These colours were most definitely curated to work perfectly together. You can't go wrong, no matter which combinations you choose to feature, even if you put them all together like I did here!

The entire sentiment comes from the You Make Things Sparkle set. I'm quite certain that the coordinating dies take this from basic to wow. While it looks like a crazy amount of work to die cut and line up all those popped up letters, it really wasn't!

To match the Christmas Bouquet Stamp and Stencil Bundle with the sentiment, I added a bit of gold embossing in the centres of the three Turmeric posies and the bottom of the scripted sparkle word. I actually ombre stamped the sparkle word with Turmeric, Terracotta and Fig but most of the Fig colour ended up being hidden by the gold embossing powder.

I'm so in love with all of these products and I can't wait to play with them more. I'll have more inspiration coming in the next few weeks, using more of the products from this release! If there's something you'd like me to share in a YouTube video, please let me know in the comments below.

My Birthday Cards

I celebrated my birthday last week and I squealed when I received this card from Chris and Damian. Isn't it the cutest little scene? OMG, that squirrel from Lawn Fawn's Let's Go Nuts was clearly made to play the drums from Julie Ebersole's Twelve Days! It's pure genius!!

The sentiment combo -- one of them masked and partially stamped -- and the cheerful bunny are from Brandi Kincaid's Backyard Party and the dancing squirrel is also from Lawn Fawn's Let's Go Nuts.

The beautifully coloured pile of leaves is from Lawn Fawn's Let's Go Nuts and the oft-used widgeon is from Technique Tuesday's Duck Swan Goose. The stage from Forest Feast makes a great anchor for the scene. My husband did all the colouring and arranged the scene with guidance from my son. They make a great team, don't they?

I also received a bunch of gorgeous cards from crafty friends -- and a surprise visit with food from one -- which made me super happy! On the top, from left to right, the cards are by Lindsey, Tracey and Angela. On the bottom row, from left to right, the cards are from Heidi, Angela and Lori. Thanks so much, dear friends!

Catherine Pooler | Bringing Good Cheer

My obsession with the Grandma's Attic colour combo and the Nostalgic Season stamp set and coordinating dies continues with today's version of my release day card. I love this 6" x 8" layering stamp set so much that I could use it to make all my holiday cards!

I had stamped extra ornaments when I made my first card and I was originally going to make an exact replica to mail out but then I decided to switch things up just a tag. My base panel was cut from white glitter cardstock. Then I used the Scallops & Dots Dies and the Woodgrain Background to create the layers from white cardstock and vellum cardstock.

I heat embossed the sentiment and strings before adhering all the layers flat using both vellum and permanent tape runners. Since the heat embossing warped the vellum panel, the vellum tape didn't work as well as it normally did. The piercing details would've hidden 1/8" Scor-Tape which I would've and should've used, had I been better prepared. Instead, I added glue dots here and there to keep certain areas from popped up off the Woodgrain Background.

I wanted to keep this card completely flat for easy mailing so I adhered the ornaments with glue dots. I love dimension and I love using foam tape and, for this reason alone, this isn't my favourite card. I may make a version with dimension and correct the vellum adhesion for personal satisfaction. LOL

To finish, I added some sheer organza ribbon in the form of little bows at the tops of the ornaments to pretty up this card. I hope this inspires you to use the Nostalgic Season stamp set in a different way!

VIDEO | Taylored Expressions | Wheatfield Dreams Card Kit

I'm excited to share inspiration using the Wheatfield Dreams Card Kit from Taylored Expressions. I love the rich colours of this kit -- Mulled Wine, Honey and Sweet Basil. The gorgeous images illustrated by Lori Craig inspired three easy cards.

For my first card, I created a colour blocked background and added texture using the largest of the Diagonal Stitch Rectangle Stacklets. Then I added images that were ombre stamped with five different ink cubes -- Dijon, Honey, Mulled Wine, Avocado and Sweet Basil.

I stamped the sentiment with Sugar Cube ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I adhered the images with foam tape at the top and liquid glue at the bottom.

My second card features three Copic-coloured sunflowers which are adhered with foam tape at the top and liquid glue at the bottom. To create the tag, I stamped the sentiment on vellum using black pigment ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I used the smallest of the Tag Stacklets 2 dies, using partial die cutting to shorten the tag.

For my third card, I heat embossed the burlap background using the copper embossing powder included in the kit. Then I cut a "moon" from the panel using the third smallest of the Stitched Circle Stacklets.

I added three Copic-coloured wheat images to the heat embossed panel with glue dots, trimming off the overhanging pieces before popping it on to the card base with foam tape. To finish, I added three small stars from the Gathered Stars Die, leftovers from my previous video.

I hope you're inspired to create with this kit! It's so inspiring for year-round thank you and encouragement cards. There are so many ways to use the beautiful kit ingredients and the possibilities are endless.

No doubt, this kit will be as popular as Lori's previous kits -- Field Notes and Field Notes 2 -- so be sure to grab one while you can! The September 2021 gift with $100+ purchase is a layering stencil set and it's so beautiful.

Thanks so much for watching!

Catherine Pooler | Christmas is Here

I'm back with more inspiration using the Nostalgic Season stamp set and coordinating dies from Catherine Pooler's This Christmas release. As I mentioned before, this is a 6" x 8" layering stamp set and there are so many beautiful, intricate stamps. You can do so much with this stamp set! Since my first card featured the bell and ornaments, I wanted to feature different stamps so I went with a mantle-style scene and used the stocking and Christmas tree. I also used the Garland Borders stamp set to frame my scene.

Once again, my colours were inspired by the Grandma's Attic colour combo. If you love both the Nostalgic Season and Garland Borders stamp sets, and the colour inspiration, you can purchase everything together in the Nostalgic Season Bundle and save!

In this card, I stamped the stockings and tree in Juniper Mist before using the layering stamps to fill them in. On the stocking, I used Hot Tub, Clay Mask and Polished. On the front layer of the tree, I used Green Tea and on the back layer, I used Eucalyptus. I cut the Eucalyptus tree in half down the middle and used Bearly Art liquid glue to adhere it to the Green Tea layer.

I ombre stamped the garland in my MISTI stamping tool using Green TeaEucalyptus and Spruce. I originally planned to leave it plain with just the ombre greens but when I arranged the stockings and tree, it seemed to bare. To add colour, and to avoid actual colouring, I used the large circle for Rudolph's nose to stamp Hot Tub in the centres of the petal flowers and the smaller circle to stamp Polished in the berries. Then I used the two little leaf stamps from Feeling Peachy Sentiments to fill in the leaves and holly with Eucalyptus and Green Tea, respectively.

Club Sursee by Catherine Pooler Designs | September 2021 | Part 3 of 3

I'm back with one last inspiration post for the September 2021 Deluxe Club Sursee and this time I used all of the colours included in the Bright Idea Slimline Patterned Paper! Since I wanted all of the colours to be featured on all of the butterfly images included in the Take Flight stamp set, I needed to use a slimline card base.

I used the Essentials Slimline Die to create the scalloped panel. Then I stamped all of the butterflies with the ink pads in rainbow order, doubling and tripling up on the inks to create an ombre effect on all of the butterflies.

Once all of the butterflies were done, I use the dies to cut matte gold foil shadows and adhered the two layers together. Once I determined the arrangement or flow of the butterflies down the length of the slimline card, I heat embossed the sentiment in gold.

To finish, I popped up some of the butterflies with foam tape and adhered others directly on the panel with liquid glue

I didn't take close-ups of the other two thank you cards I made with the largest scripted sentiment in the Thank You Many Ways stamp set, along with the diamonds from Take Flight. One is a one-layer card and the other is a white panel with scored frame on a black card base.

If you're a Club Sursee or Deluxe Club Sursee subscriber, your September 2021 goodies should be arriving soon! I hope you're inspired by all of my samples this month. As most of you know, I was a Club Ambassador before being a Brand Ambassador so it felt so good to be creating for Club Sursee again this month, just like old times. Club Sursee by Catherine Pooler Designs | September 2021 | Part 2 of 3

I'm back with more inspiration for the September 2021 Deluxe Club Sursee and this time I went ultra clean and simple, using the Circle Weave Die in a non-traditional way. Again, my colour scheme is based on the Bright Idea Slimline Patterned Paper and, this time, I used the brighter end of the spectrum.

First, I die cut three of the Circle Weave Die from heavyweight cardstock. I also die cut the three circles from a panel of A2-sized masking paper. I secured the negative section of the masking paper to the card base. Then I used removable tape to secure one die cut in its positive space. I used blending brushes and Pink Champagne, Rose Petals, Shea Butter and Sauna inks to blend the weave pattern on to both the die cut itself and as a stencil on the card base.

After all three circles were ink blended, I removed both the masking paper and the inked up die cuts. I used a basic circle die from my stash that is slightly smaller than the Circle Weave Die to create a thin ring, which I adhered to the card base using Bearly Art liquid glue. I used my scissors to trim off the overhanging sections and stamped the sentiment from the Thank You Many Ways stamp set using Cove Blue ink.

If you're a Club Sursee or Deluxe Club Sursee subscriber, your September 2021 goodies should be arriving soon! I hope you're inspired to create with this month's products and I'll be back soon with a closer look at the other cards I made with these stamps and dies.
