Club Sursee by Catherine Pooler Designs | July 2020 | Part 2 of 4

Meet Coco! She's a character I created using the July 2020 Deluxe Club Sursee and I have a short video clip on Instagram of all my projects using this collection. I seriously cannot stop laughing! I can't even tell you how she came about, except that it all started with the glasses from the Summer Lovin' stamp set.

It took me some time to realize that the heart in the same stamp set fits perfectly inside the glasses to make sunglasses! Then I remembered that fruit people are a thing. LOL! I noticed that the straws would work as arms and legs so I looked around and discovered that the coconut could be a face, complete with cute freckles.

I cut the stick off the drink umbrella and used it as her skirt. Then I added the palm leaf as hair, gave her a snack et voilĂ ! Coco was born. Her expression is hilarious and her outfit has so much personality. I love her!

The sentiment and grassy border are from the Good Times Bits and Borders stamp set and I did some ink blending at the top and bottom of the card to tie in the colours from her outfit. I just love Coco so much and now I want to make more cards with her. LOL!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Club Sursee by Catherine Pooler Designs | July 2020 | Part 1 of 4

I had a blast creating with the July 2020 Deluxe Club Sursee so you're in for a treat since I made four inspiration cards! This month's theme is summer and that means sunshine, fruit, refreshments, palm trees and flamingos! Once I picked my colour scheme, it was easy to stamp away and whip up several cards until all of my die cut images were used. It was refreshingly addictive! LOL

This month's colours are listed below (yes, all 13) and I varied them in different amounts on each card but I love all of the natural colours with a splash of Sweet Sixteen! Those sunglasses can be left as plain eyeglasses (as you'll see tomorrow) or stamped in with whatever shade of lenses you want. They're super cute and almost all of the images can wear those sunglasses!

The sentiment and all of the images, except the boardwalk, are from the Summer Lovin' stamp set and the boardwalk is a border stamp from Good Times Bits and Borders, which I curved and stamped in Sand Castle and Over Coffee.

Most of the images were rock 'n' rolled with two inks to give them dimension, depth and to add visual interest. The melons were adhered using glue dots and the rest of the images were popped up with foam tape. I added some Star Dust Stickles to the edges of the boardwalk to give the sand a shimmery appearance.

Two Many Cards Video Series feat. Trinity Stamps + Giveaway!

Hi, everyone! Samantha Mann and I are back with new videos for Two Many CardsIf you're new to this series, please visit my original post HERE, which explains how and why we're sharing our own unique take on the same products.

Today, we're so excited to be featuring several incredible products from Trinity Stamps. This is my first time using Trinity Stamps and making slimline cards featuring the Slimline Card Series: Scalloped Card Panels and Borders and Scenic Border Die Set!

All of the adorable and quirky images are from the Let The Good Times Roll stamp set and coordinating dies.

I stamped, heat embossed and watercolored all of the images and sentiments with distress inks. I featured the jackalope character on my first card, which also features the incredible Layered Lakeside Mountain Stencils.

I added Stardust Stickles to the ripples in the water to add to the magical element of the card.

The second card includes a sparkly shaker road element so it was rather complicated to make but you can find all the details in my video.

I coloured the first unicorn in rainbow order and her friend in reverse rainbow order. The shaker element is so fun to play with, especially watching those rhinestones and white heart jelly drops rolling back and forth!

Catherine Pooler Designs | One Plus One Collection

Did you shop the Catherine Pooler One Plus One Collection? I'd love to know what your favourite products were! I have too many to name but I did fall in love with His and Hers, Oh, Baby and the Nested Stitched Heart Dies the moment I saw them. The panda from Oh, Baby was what really won my heart (because I'm crazy for pandas) so I'm very excited to share this card set with you! Believe it or not, I started this card with the intention of making a simple Warhol-style square card with four different shades of pandas (in greens, of course, to draw in the bamboo element).

I ended up wanting to add too many elements, including accessories and the Nested Stitched Heart Dies which made the images too big for the card base itself. So a new design was born and since I had four pandas, I ended up making a whole set which I absolutely adore and can't wait to send them out to friends. I mixed Melon IceGarden Party, Mint To Be and Seafoam on each card. Over Coffee is the common ink colour in all three cards and I did a lot of ink blending on the hearts and dry embossed word from Good Things Mini Cover Plate Dies, which was masked and carefully sponged. I did this after stamping the rest of the sentiment from Be the Good Sentiments and I love the cool effect!

These pandas love their matcha lattes (LOL!), and their takeout cups are from Life, Love, Latte. The cute little paws are from Peeking Pets. I was so excited that these two elements worked so perfectly with the cute little pandas and Oh, Baby, in general! I hope you enjoyed today's inspiration. I've included the supply links for this card set below, as well as links to purchase the bundles and entire One Plus One Collection.

VIDEO | Evelin T Designs | Floral Gift Tags

I'm so excited to bring you this video featuring the Floral Surprise and Positivi-Tea stamp sets from Evelin T Designs! I came up with this idea during release week and I wanted to play with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers which have sat unused for too long.

I started by die cutting tags from Studio Katia's Dotted Patterns Set 1 dies and stamped part of the Floral Surprise image on the bottom right hand corner of each tag, using a different part of the image on both tags to show some variation.

I also stamped three images from Positivi-Tea that would be fussy cut and popped up with large glue dots. The Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers were so easy to use and I love their vibrancy! I will definitely play with them more. To finish, I layered the bristol tags on kraft cardstock, added black hemp cord and arctic breeze pearls.

Catherine Pooler Designs | One Plus One Collection feat. Be The Good

Hello, friends! I'm back with another sneak peek of Catherine Pooler's One Plus One Collection, available on Wednesday! For today's card, I went back to my original style of super clean and simple. Sometimes that's required to show off beautiful fonts and the quirky details of patterned paper.

The Be The Good Sentiments stamp set is all about positive, encouraging sentiments. The best part of it? You make your own sentiments with the words and phrases available. You know I'm a sucker for sentiment sets with different fonts and I immediately fell in love with the scripted words.

I love pairing green and yellow, which are complimentary colours, so I decided to show off just two patterns from the A Tisket, A Tasket 6x6 paper pad. The yellow piece was cut using the Morning Joe Border dies and it's clear that I'm currently addicted to it since I've used it on all three of my cards for this release so far.

I used the coordinating ink colours for the paper pad in Limoncello, Garden Party and Grass Skirt. I also used Lemongrass to rock 'n' roll the bottom edge of the first two words to make sure they were legible.

All product links to the One Plus One Collection will go live on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll have more inspiration for you very soon!

VIDEO | Simon Hurley create. | Dry Embossing with Stencils to Add Dimension

I have a fun technique video to share with you today! I've always either ink blended with a stencil or dry embossed with a stencil but not both together! I almost never remember to dry emboss with a stencil even though I love the results but now that I've discovered that doing both together makes such an impact, maybe I'll remember. LOL

I used the brand new Snazzy Snowmen stamp set on all three of these cards, swapping out a different snowman for each card. This first card features the brand new Sweater Weather stencil. It's a stunning and innovative stencil because you can use it as is or you can layer it to create beautiful snowflakes.

I dry embossed the stencil first, then matched the embossing with the opposite stencil shape -- big with small and small with big to complete the shape. Doesn't it look amazing? I just love it! The two colours I featured here are the brand new Midnight Snack and Remember Me.

I rock 'n' rolled the snowman's plaid scarf (so cute!) and punched out buttons stamped to match the scarf and background. I heat embossed the sentiment in white, attached the snowman to the ink blended tag and added a white hemp cord bow.

This second card features the Bubble Wrap stencil. It was dry embossed and ink blended with Piggyback and Woof! All of the images were watercolored with coordinating reinkers, fussy cut and assembled.

The Christmas lights were popped up with foam tape in the centre and adhered flat to the snowman's hands. The sentiment was stamped on the raised edges of the dry embossed stencil so there are slight breaks in the letters. I just love the simplicity of this card!

My last card features the Pow! stencil and I masked the bird into the melted snowman. I just love the look on that bird's face! He looks stunned and a little confused as to what happened to his perch. LOL

The two ink colours featured on this card are Minty Fresh and Tropical Tango. Once again, I heat embossed the sentiment in white and added a silver glitter strip to provide an interesting contrast between the image anchor and the dry embossed and stencilled background.

I hope you enjoyed today's inspiration! I'd love to know if you give this technique a try. Please join the Stamping with Simon Hurley create. Facebook Group and tag me in your posts!

Catherine Pooler Designs | One Plus One Collection feat. more His and Hers

Hello, friends! I'm back with another sneak peek of Catherine Pooler's One Plus One Collection, available next Wednesday! The His and Hers stamp set is packed with adorable images and they're my kind of images, from shoes to eyeglasses to chairs. It's the perfect couples stamp set!

Since I featured the shoes in yesterday's post, I decided to focus on the chairs here. To create the background, I used three different patterns from the A Tisket, A Tasket 6x6 paper pad. I used my paper trimmer to cut out the floor and wall panels, then used the Morning Joe Border dies to cut out the top strip.

I stamped the chairs in Over Coffee, rocking 'n' rolling them with Icing On The Cake, and popped them up with foam tape. I heat embossed the Happy Anniversary sentiment using Midnight ink on a Nested Stitched Hearts die and tucked it behind the chairs using vellum adhesive.

I swiped Rockin' Red and Mint To Be inks on premium white cardstock, then die cut the Pet Specs from the coloured cardstock. I also die cut the lenses from vellum and inserted those pieces into the glasses before adhering the googly eyes with glue dots. All of the ink colours I used coordinate with the A Tisket, A Tasket 6x6 paper pad.

All product links to the One Plus One Collection will go live on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.
