A friend of mine who previously ordered a wedding card from me sent me a Facebook message on Thursday night. He asked if I could make him another wedding card for this weekend at such short notice and apologized for forgetting to ask sooner. I had another card to finish this weekend but it wasn't as urgent so I said yes. I knew it was going to be simple and elegant and that would make it easy. Plus I've always worked well under pressure in the corporate world so why not creatively, too?
This card was quick and easy up until I added the names. It took me a while to decide what sentiment I was going to use. My friend had provided the bride and groom's names but I didn't have to use them. At first I was going to use a beautifully scripted Congratulations and Best Wishes stamp. I also considered using welcome to the wedded bliss club from the SU Congrats set. However, with both of these options I was worried about lining up the words since I don't have a stamp-a-ma-jig and could've easily ruined my card. While I was thinking about how to complete the card, another idea popped into my head. I hadn't used my alphabet punches in a long time and decided this was the time. I punched out the letters needed and decided to place them on clear tape. I used tiny scissors to cut out around the letters and placed the names on the card. Er, did I think this would look good? Well... the names looked amazing but the shine from the tape certainly didn't! So I ended up having to repunch the letters and glue them individually on the card. Lucky for me I already had the names completed and used them as guides for gluing. How perfect! This totally would've been a CAS card had it not been for the punching and gluing (mostly the gluing) of the names. LOL
