Olive You, Hostess

I made this project for Amber Ink's INKcredible 21-Day Challenge. It ends tomorrow so I'm getting this in at the last minute. If you have time today, I'd like to invite you to play along! I used these pretty triangle box patterns from the Scor-Pal site. I discovered this site after Julie Hoffman made this fabulous coffee cup. Thank you for the inspiration and links, Julie! I found quite a few projects I'd like to try.

I chose to make the two larger triangle boxes, one with the large olive paper and the other with the tiny olive paper. These were extremely easy to make and can hold quite a few small chocolates inside! The featured image is Hostess With The Mostess. I did a little masking with the martini glass so it sits right on the tray without me having to cut and glue one on separately. ;)

That's right! I braided some gorgeous Maraschino baker's twine from The Twinery and tied bows with it!! I'd written this idea in my idea book ages ago and finally had the perfect project to show it. I had my husband hold the ends while I braided. During that time, he mentions that he could create a template for anything I can dream up using his engineering software. My reply was, "Seriously?! Why didn't you tell me this before?!" :D

The weatherman predicted snow but instead it's pouring rain. I'd much rather it snow because it's pretty and I can go out in it without getting too wet. We might even have lightning and thunder this afternoon! I hope you're having better weather day than we are!

Husbands are like that sometimes, aren't they... the great ideas AFTER the fact! ;) I love these little pyramid boxes. It's good you're putting chocolates inside; I think the martini would leak. :D
We're having a lovely blizzard here today, but I've heard it's heading your way...

I do love me some olives! Very cute boxes, and I love the braided twine!
Here it is snowing like CRAZY, and it just shifted from normal-cold to whoa-baby-arctic cold. No fun. Pretty, though!

So cute! I've visited Amber Inks often but haven't taken the plunge yet. Your use of the image and the coloring, make it tempting. She does have adorable images (like your little mermaid). *smile*
