Amber Ink 1st Birthday Blog Hop

Happy Birthday to Amber Ink! If you've already been hopping, you should've come here from Sunghee's blog. If you're just joining us from my blog, you can find all the details at the Amber Ink Blog. There are prizes to be won so be sure to comment at every stop along the way!

I can hardly believe Amber Ink is already a year old let alone the fact that it's already been nine months since I was a Torchbearer! I've met so many wonderful and talented ladies and remember my Orange Torch predecessors well - Taylor Usry, Wendy Price, Sunghee Chon, then me. Wow! What an honour that I became a part of it at that point. Then I passed my Orange Torch to Angela Hathikhanavala who passed it on to Lindsey M-P, Meg Craig, Cheryl Gorka and so forth. What an amazing line up and I'm so thrilled to have been a part of it. The best part, of course, is being one of the alumnae and having the opportunity to join up with my girls once again for these fun blog hops!

My card uses Hostess with the Mostess, my favourite Amber Ink set so far. The first time I ever saw anyone feature uncoloured stamps on their cards was my Unity Guest Designer predecessor Julie Lacey and it seems to be quite popular now so I thought it was time to give it a try. This hostess is just detailed enough. I coloured in the fruit plate to tie in with the coordinating colours of the baker's twine accent. For the bow, I tied a regular bow, applied glue beneath the knot, waited for it to dry and then trimmed off the ends of the bow. I love how clean it looks without the tails!

Thank you for joining me today to celebrate as Amber Ink turns one! Now head on over to Lindsey's blog for more birthday fun!

What a stunner Emily! Everything about this card says CLASS! I just want to grab one of those fruit kabobs - they must be real right? And the way you've placed the text, the bow, the everything! Love it. We are so honored you've been a part of Amber Ink!

WOW...this card is GORGEOUS, Emily! Thanks for the shout out! I mostly don't color just because I don't like to, wasn't expecting it to take off...LOL. I'm so limited in my crafting time that something had to give, LOL! :)

Thanks for always being an inspiration, Emily!

WOW! Every stop in this hop just keeps getting better!
I don't know if I can make it all the way thru all the torches without going into sensory overload!
I'm glad you're early in the hop, because I would have hated to miss this!

Super card, Emily!

Fabulous card, Em! Love the uncolored look so that fruit plate and twine can take center stage, since it's obvious the hostess with the mostess spent a lot of time on that fruit plate. ;)

The color platter against the black and white...
gorgeous!

Yowzer! What awesomeness, Em. I love how you left your Amber girl uncolored so the food could take the spotlight in all its retro glory. (Also gives me great comfort to know I don't always HAVE to colour Amber girls... :P) And I'm glad you explained how you created your latest twine innovation -- I could have wasted a lot of mine trying to figure it out! ;)

I love the clean twine bow too and love the way you coloured the platter and left the hostess uncoloured. It amused me that your close-up picture looked as if the hostess was about to trip and spill the platter! (My kind of hostessing!)

Well, if you're going to make a card this fabulous, you might deserve to dip those fruit skewers in some chocolate ;) I love the twine with the embossing at the top, and thanks for leaving your Girl b&w so at least I don't feel so ashamed of my lack of coloring skills!
Go team orange!
