{Ellen Hutson} Pin-Sights Challenge

After seeing the gorgeous inspiration photo, I couldn't resist playing along with Ellen Hutson's Pin-Sights Challenge. I got together with my favourite local crafty peeps this weekend - Ardyth, Natasha and Tracey - and I brought my Gansai watercolour paints along. They all tried them and fell in love with them. Who wouldn't? ;)

I used Ardyth's Bold Blossom Stand-Alone Dies and I'm going to have to get my own set. They're so gorgeous! I watercoloured them using gold and black paints. After letting the gold paint dry, I pooled some black paint on an acrylic block and flicked the brush to create splatter on the roses.

I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from Love You So twice, once in white on black cardstock and again in black on white cardstock. Then I trimmed the sentiment into strips and reassembled them in alternating colours. I felt that the card needed a pop of colour so I drew from the redwood floor in the inspiration photo and coloured white enamel dots with an R89 Copic marker.

This challenge ends tonight but there will be a new one up tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it and I hope you'll play along!
