Merci

Good morning! I hope you're all having a fabulous weekend so far. Angela featured one of my cards on the Unity Facebook Fan page this morning and I couldn't be more thrilled. It totally made my day! Thanks so much, Angela!

For my third challenge card, I chose to combine USCWCMD05 (stamp on fabric or other medium) and USCWCMD15 (make a card with some bling). I've only stamped on cross-stitch fabric and felt a couple of times and I wanted to try it again. I'm also still trying to expand my comfort zone using bling. This card started off very CAS but I didn't like how it looked so I ended up adding more and more. Originally, I had masked off a smaller circle on ivory, offset by the felt Eiffel Tower. It was too plain so I remasked using a larger circle and added strings of rhinestones (which I never thought I'd use) to accentuate the circular sentiment. It still didn't look right so I added the twine. Then I didn't think the colours looked all that great against the ivory so I decided to cut out the entire thing. If you follow my blog, you already know that I love kraft and the way ivory looks against it. The damask image from the July KOTM was too pretty not to use as a background in watermark ink and it's also quite French looking, don't you think? I know the Eiffel Tower is in Paris but this card is going to my bestie in Montreal to thank her for the goodies she sent to us when she was on vacation in Greece.

Can you believe that I thought all WCMD cards had to be made and posted by midnight last night? My husband even asked how late I was going to stay up to blog because, at over 100wpm, he says that I type too loud and that the clacking keys would keep him up. LOL This is my first time participating in World Cardmaking Day and since it was called World Cardmaking Day, I just assumed that it was a one-day celebration. I also wondered how on earth anyone would be able to finish that many cards in one day! LOL Yes, I think I'm in need of more sleep. :Þ
