The Sweet Simple Things of Life

This one-layer card combines Unity's Toot Fruity Challenge and the All Things Unity Challenge #31 to use an uninked stamp. This apple from Take Time To Laugh is the only fruit stamp I have by Unity and I've never used it before. I paired it up with a sentiment from Favorite Things/Rockin' It Unity Style. I rock 'n' rolled the apple in two red inks and the inked the leaf in two greens to keep it from looking too flat. I've been seeing a lot of fruit (mostly melons) in the blogosphere made with the scallop punch and I thought I would use it here as a bite out of the card itself, rather than the image. I'd never seen this done before but that's not to say it hasn't been done before because someone must've thought of this already, right? Anyway, I think it looks quite cute. It reminds me of snack time before my son's naps when we're both munching on apples and reading books. When he was younger, I used to cut up his apples into slices but when he saw me eating a whole one, he asked me why I ate mine that way. Ever since then, my son loves to eat apples whole even if he struggles with it. It really is one of the cutest thing to watch! :)

Very cute Emily! I have never seen a bite taken from a fruit card, but had seen it on a alligator card (and even cased it!). Love the rockin' technique. Fabulous card!

What a cute idea to take the bite out of the card! Not half as cute as your son eating a whole apple though I bet!

Love that bite mark, Emily! Such a perfect touch and I haven't seen it anywhere before either. Would be good on a cookie card too - it makes me think of Cookie Monster! LOL! Also love how you used the apple colours in the sentiment.

Hi Emily, Another gorgeous card, was that two apple stamps? It works really well if it was, love your clever CAS cards :0)
Your son's growing up so fast, I remember when he was a baby and my first cyber meeting with you was a picture of your desk (WOYWW) and his sweet face, time passes so quickly. Have fun, hugs :0) xxx
