Love You Every Day

This card is a pick-me-up for my husband. To be honest, I could use a card like this myself but it was therapeutic making it so that'll have to do. We're both extremely depressed about not finding a house after two plus years of searching and losing two bidding wars. As if that wasn't bad enough, bully-offers are suddenly the norm! If you haven't heard of this, basically it's an offer substantially over the asking price in the first 48 hours a house is listed. Typically, a house will list on a Thursday and set an evening, typically the following Monday or Tuesday, for everyone to make their offer. Crazy, isn't it? It's hard for anyone to sympathize with us because they're not in our shoes and so I vent. I'm really hoping this is our lucky month, like maybe we'll find a house for Father's Day!

Oh right, you want details about this card. ;) After I used the monster floating in an acorn boat from Falling for You, I thought about using the top of the acorn again as an umbrella. When I started looking through my patterned paper for some clouds I knew I had, I stumbled upon the raindrops and knew I had to use that instead. All of these papers are from Echo Park's A Walk in the Park Collection. I attached little twine bows to the monster's horns to make it a girl (me) because I can occasionally be a monster. Don't we all have those moments? LOL The sentiment is a mix-and-match from Pretty Phrases. After I finished this card, I wished I had inked up the toothpick in a darker colour to make it stand out more. Oh well, lesson learned.

Can you totally tell that I'm addicted to making these 3.25" x 6.5" cards? I love them!

Perfect pick-me-up, Emily :) It's an adorable card. Those paper smooches are just too cute!
It's hard looking for a house! I've done it enough times to know I don't want to do it again anytime soon! I don't envy your position- hang in there and just know that when it's meant to be, it will be :) Best wishes to you and your hubby!

First a boat, now an umbrella? Oh, you're just too clever.

I'm sure Mr. Art-Heart will be picked up -- how could he not be? And you already know I'm wishing you all kinds of luck on the house. Or that you'll move here, where it's so easy...either way! ;)

Ouch on the continuing house-hunt frustration, but ooh on the card. It's so cute! The monster-bows are so sweet. The mix of patterned papers is rather perfect. ;)

HI Emily! Did you know that my hubby is a real estate agent and I am studying to be one too??? So I get where you are. I am a little surprised that after 2 years of looking you've only lost out on 2 houses! Over here in Winnipeg people lose out on 5 or 6 houses before they get one! The worst this year was hubby showed one client 50 houses and they lost out on 4 houses, 2 they even had a better offer but still had financing in it (not a clean offer lots of people are taking financing out!) I don't think we have the bulling offers here I don't think it's allowed! I hope your housing hunt goes better and you find a house fast! :>

Love that you used the acorn as an umbrella! That paper is perfect and you made me laugh with the monster comment, nice to know it's not just me!!!

Wow, this is SO clever, Emily!! The bows for your girl monster, the perfect rainy DP, the acorn top umbrella, the perfect sentiment. What's not to love here!! I hope it cheers your hubby, and I'm glad that making it gave you a lift. It sounds like you are dealing with a really tough housing market. Hang in there!!

I think the pink twine bit is my favorite. Our house purchase was b/c the stars above lined up in a crazy fashion, so when it's meant to be it'll happen.

Yes, card-making is the BEST "therapy"!! I hear you about the house-hunting! It must have been so frustrating! I think TO is the worst for bidding wars! I hope the right one will come along and that you are able to find one of your choice soon! I adore this cute card. I don't have any Paper Smooches stamps..you make me want to get some :)

Hehe!! You are just coming up with such creative ways with that acorn, so love this one!!

Another super cute card! I'm lovin' that size and can't wait to be addicted, too!

So sorry about your house hunting woes. I really sympathize with you! I'm sure if they let the nicest people win the bids, you'd have won by now! Keep the faith and I'm sure something good will come of this, full circle. Praying for you, too.....Hugs!

awsome card! love the colors, and it all fits so great together!

I bet it makes it even more frustrating to not have a lot of sympathy for the house-hunting situation. I was so upset when we lost out on the first house we bid on - heck, it's 7 years later & I still think that house would have suited us better. Knowing you'll appreciate it when it finally happens is not a lot of comfort, either. Blech. Since your hubby does get crafty from time to time (with great success!) maybe he'll take a hint & make something to cheer you up too :)

I'll cross my fingers for you Emily and hope that you get a house very soon :)

Amazing card again, you are so clever.

Aaaargh! I've missed several of your wonderful creations - how did that happen?!! I loved the fishy card and I love what you're doing with this cute chap. I loved him adrift in the sea with his flag and I love him looking bemused about the torrential (but beautifully coloured!) rain.

I feel for you about the house hunting. Bidding wars favour those with loads of money but it leaves those who simply want to pay a fair price for a house in limbo. A big bloggy hug from me! Vx

I'm in the same boat...been searching for a house for 2 yrs now...everything we love is way beyond our budget and what fits, we don't like!!
I'm crossing my fingers for you..hope you find something soon!!

Loving this card...I'm sure it would cheer up your hubby!!

So sorry about your house hunting and I wish you lots of luck in the coming weeks. Thought the housing market is not doing well which allow buyers to have a higher chance... at least over here.
Anyway, I've never seen a monster carrying an umbrella before - you are so imaginative, Emily!
