RAKs and Cars Kinder Eggs

Hello, friends! I'm stressed out to the max!! I keep wanting to craft but I don't have an ounce of energy which is also zapping my creativity. Even thinking about getting my supplies out is exhausting. I have some birthday cards that need to be made but I guess they're going to be a bit late. The reason is, as you know, the listing on our condo goes live tomorrow morning and we've been cleaning like crazy people all weekend long. I hope there's an offer in the first week so my daily routine doesn't have to change too much with people coming in to see the place. The restrictions on viewing times are short, too, such that my son isn't going to have his long nap and I definitely won't be able to craft which means I will only be able to craft at night which I do not enjoy! I don't like anything cramping my crafting mojo, if you know what I mean. ;) This past month, I was fortunate to receive three cards from talented blogland friends so I need to share them with you!

**********

The first one is from Lai Yoke in The Netherlands. I received this card the day we found out our offer on the house was accepted. How perfect for the occasion!! I met Lai Yoke in the Hero Arts Flickr Group several months ago and we've been friends ever since! If you've never been to her blog, walchowDesign, you need to check out her beautiful cards as well as her handmade bags. She's extremely talented!

**********

This second card is from Janna in Germany. I love that I'm receiving cards from all over Europe! ;) Janna made this card when she was a Guest Designer for Pink Cat Studio. I loved having her design alongside me!! It's a blur how Janna found me more than a year ago but I'm so happy that she did because we've been keeping a constant dialog. Janna's creativity astounds me and I love everything she makes. One little visit to her blog, Papiersalat, will have you going back again and again!

My last card is from one of my nearest and dearest blogland buddies, Lindsey. I love the cool design of this congratulations card for our house! We met on Splitcoaststampers in the Spring of 2010. She lives two hours north of me and we talk about everything. Literally. I got to meet Lindsey on the holiday weekend when she and her husband came down to the city for a concert! There were no photo ops, unfortunately, since Lindsey is camera-shy but I can assure you that she doesn't look like Calvin or Hobbes. LOL We sat and chatted and made a card for another one of our blogland friends whose kitten broke his leg. That collaboration will be blogged as soon as that card has arrived at its destination. I love Lindsey's clean and simple style as well as her sense of humour. Stop by her blog, Bashful Blogging, for some classic fun!

Finally, I wanted to share this adorable little 'baby Lightning McQueen' as my son calls him. He came inside one of these chocolate Kinder Eggs that my husband found recently while grocery shopping! Isn't he adorable? I photographed him next to my son's 'real' matchbox version of Lightning McQueen from the Cars movies. The box says that two out of three eggs have a Cars character inside. The second one we opened had an airplane so we're hoping that the third and final egg actually has another car in it.

I'm also trying to catch up with all your comments. If I haven't visited your blog in a while, please forgive me! I plan on coming by to say hi as soon as I can and I really appreciate every comment you leave here. I love comments and I don't take them for granted! I wish there were 48 hours in a day. :)

First off, good luck showing your place -- I hope you can get back to your regular schedule soon!

Second, awesome RAKs!

Third - a fun fact: don't try to bring Kinder Eggs into the States. They aren't sold here anymore, nor can one bring them home from a country that does, and I'm told it's because our crazy paranoid government thinks someone will transport dangerous materials. In delicious chocolate eggs. Yes, I'm serious. Contraband chocolate. Oy.

OH my goodness I am so excited for your condo being on the market! I hope it sells fast! It's not fun trying to keep it clean! Of course you don't have time to craft good for you to even have time to blog! Love seeing the cards that you received! And I haven't seen that cars kinder egg but now I want to get some for my little boy! I bet he would love it too! Sorry I haven't been by your blog lately, summer is tiring me out!

Good luck with your house showing! Hopefully, things will fall into place quickly and your crafting life will be back to normal!

Thanks for sharing your awesome RAKs! Wow! Such talented friends! And those eggs are awesome!! I read Angela's post and had to chuckle--contraband chocolate? How sad.....

Take care, Emily and don't stress so much!

Somehow it amuses me that Kinder Surprise are the next big scary weapon possibility. I totally believe it.
I don't remember if I said already (maybe on the original post?) but congrats that your awesome ice-cream stick card was picked over at Hero Arts - beyond deserving, in my humble opinion!
Moving, even an exciting move, is stressful. We live in the first house we've owned, so I've never had to cope with trying to sell and move at the same time - I can't imagine. Ugh. I really hope that the condo sells FAST so the disruptions are limited, especially for your little man. Short nap? Icky.

Thanks for the sweet words, Em! I think for the right type of person, your condo will be very attractive (location, size, style) so I hope it moves quickly. Then your mind can go back to planning for the new house! (I'm also picturing you showing the condo, and everybody whispering because it's naptime. Teehee! So not going to happen.)
Lai Yoke's and Janna's cards are gorgeous. I love the framed flowers on the former, and how Janna decided to go with soft colours for hers -- maybe not the obvious choice, but perfect for that sleeping gnomelet. :P
