Today's my first post as the Paper Smooches Guest Designer for October and I'm so excited! As you all know, I've been raving about Kim's stamps ever since her first release and I'm bewildered to be designing for Kim this month alongside her incredibly talented team as well as following in the footsteps of several amazing friends. Someone pinch me! Now let's get to the really fun part... cards!
When I receive new stamps, I stare at them with a notebook and pencil ready to jot down ideas. The first thing that came to mind when I looked at Hot Concoctions was that the little cube could be sugar, ice or blocks. Then I looked at the sentiments in Chit Chat and the light bulb went on inside my head. I know it sounds funny to explain it like that but that's usually what happens. I stamped the sugar cube and masked it eight times to make a Rubik's cube! The little crown is from A Little Lovin and the star is from Swanky Snowdudes. Not only is Kim a talented cardmaker and illustrator, she comes up with the best names for her stamp sets! Even if you couldn't see the images, you'd want to buy the stamps based on their titles, right?
The 'need to venti?' sentiment from Hot Concoctions stuck on me. Being the lover of all things Italia that I am, I absolutely needed to use that sentiment! (Venti really means twenty but the pun is too clever and cute to pass up.) I looked at My Peeps and the parrot or parakeet seemed to fit the bill perfectly. I can just imagine that bird asking the dachshund, "Need to venti?" Of course, the little dog is going to respond with, "Let's chat," from Perpetual Bliss, right? Maybe he needs to borrow money. LOL ;) I love all the mix and match possibilities of Paper Smooches stamps!
How 'bout a giveaway? :)
I thought my September order had disappeared into the black hole of the postal system but it surfaced after almost four weeks. I offered to send the second shipment back but Kim suggested a giveaway instead so, this week, I'm giving away Halloweenies! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post by Monday, October 10th 11:59 p.m. EST. I will draw a winner via Random.org on Tuesday and announce the winner in my {Week 2} post on Wednesday, October 12th. The winner should receive this fun set in time for some last-minute Halloween projects and, next Wednesday, I will announce the next giveaway.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!! Please thank Kim for her generosity when you stop by the Paper Smooches Blog. :)
