Take Two Week {Day 1}

Hello, and welcome to Take Two! Lisa Arana and I are so thrilled you are joining us to celebrate the first anniversary of Take Two. A year ago, Lisa and I teamed up for a week of fun showcasing the same stamps from Unity Stamp Company in two different ways. This year, we decided we had to do it again and the über-awesome Angela Magnuson has once again generously donated all of the stamps sets we have chosen to feature. You will have all week to comment on ten posts, five on my blog and five on Lisa's, which means you have loads of chances to win one of five stamp sets. Lisa is also giving away two of her fabulous watermarks to two winners which makes a total of seven lucky winners for this week!

Today, Lisa and have chosen Crappy Day as our featured stamp set. As soon as I saw the toilet paper roll and the sentiments that went with it, I cracked up and knew it had to be mine! Of course, I could've just set the roll on a cupboard but that's not how I roll. ;) I like to look at my stamps at all angles to figure out how versatile they are and I knew what I was going to do when I turned the roll so it looked like it was hanging on the wall. The short sentiment didn't quite work with it but I had some Unity alphabets I could use to alter the sentence. Then I realized I had the perfect word from Note to Self that I could just mask off. The red hearts were initially masked off the original stamp and stamped afterwards in red since they would've been sideways with the roll in this position. The insert arrow was handwritten with a marker. I think it would be hilarious to frame this card and put it up as a piece of decor in the bathroom. It doesn't matter whether you prefer the flap to be under or over but my preference is over! LOL

Now head on over to Lisa's blog to see her take on Crappy Day!

OK, that's hilarious ;) Even funnier because that IS how I roll, and since I'm the only one who ever CHANGES the darn thing, I always do it that way! lol

Love how you turned this stamp to "hang" rather than just sit. When I first saw this stamp I got quite a chuckle- it's just too cute!! And a PS: I def prefer over myself! I will change it if it's not at someone else's house!!
(is that bad?!)

Hilarious! Such a fun card with its 3-D effect. I like how you both patterned the roll and made the hearts really stand out -- different, yet some common elements!

Too funny! Love how its "on a roll..." What IS that, anyway? just a rolled up bit of DP? for the TP? Gosh, all kinds of room for punny...great job!

Omg that stick thru the roll looks like the real thing ! ;)

Ujjwal said...

LOL, my preference for the roll is over as well...this is so hilarious and cute at the same time...makes me giggle :D

Angela said...

Ha! The sentiment makes me chuckle -- I grew up an "over" but converted to an "under" after marriage -- a relatively painless conversion, eh?

Crystal said...

This is so funny! I love how you turned it to look like it's hanging down, I've used this stamp a few times and never even thought to turn it that way! From now on I'm going to take your advice and look at my stamps from every angle. Thanks for the inspiration!

LOL! This is so funny! You and Lisa both did a great job showcasing this stamp so differently! Love it :)
