Welcome Home, Hero

Kim shared this card on the Paper Smooches Blog yesterday. It features stamps from one of this month's newest sets, Circle of Honor. Kim is donating a portion of all proceeds from the sale of this stamp set to Operation Write Home. This set is wonderful for the troops and also for teachers, parents, kids and even the Independence Day and Canada Day holidays! To make this card, I used one of the stars (or snowflakes) to stamp a background on the base. Once I fiddled around with the positioning of the images, I started in the centre with the solid bar in black. I stamped the flags and sentiments around the bar to ensure everything was centred. I restamped the flags on a separate piece of cardstock and adhered them to the white mat, lifting up the bottoms for visual interest. To finish, I added some pewter metallic décor from Hero Arts.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm sorry I haven't been blog hopping lately. I've been suffering from a lack of both energy and mojo and will go for a week at a time without creating. Most of these projects were made weeks ago so I hope you enjoy what you see. I appreciate all of you taking the time to stop by and leave comments. I love reading them. :)

No energy and no mojo? Blah, Emily. That sucks :( Maybe with any luck you'll end up with some nice weather so you can at least get outside & soak up some sun during your crafty break? I love the banners on this card- and that pewter decor is awesome! Is it adhered like flatback pearls, etc?

Love the cool crisp feel Emily. Hope you are feeling more motivated to craft soon. Sometimes I think my schedule simply gets too full so I have a hard time with energy to create something that doesn't look like things I've already created.

Sure hope that mojo returns quickly, Emily! I love seeing your creations and this card is so nice.

Love your cards in the new Card Creations, too!!! Way to go.

So sorry you have the blahs! I'm sure that it'll come back soon....sometimes we all need a rest though, even from our creative sides. I think crafting with kids helps when I'm feeling stumped though. They just see things so differently, and sometimes you need to just have some fun to get back in the swing.

I spotted this on the PS blog yesterday -- glad to be able to take a closer look! I really like the way you added dimension just to the bottoms of the flags. Hope you're feeling more motivated soon!

LOVE this CAS design! The row of metallic accents looks fantastic, and I love the dimension of the banners curled up at the ends.

Awww... You know I love the red and blue and the metal is really fab. I didn't notice the stamping on the base, but that's a great detail!
