My card features the lady and a sentiment from one of the upcoming releases, Jive Turkey. I fell in love with this lovely lady as soon as I laid eyes on her! No doubt, she'll be seeing a lot of ink.

History was a favourite subject of mine in school and I immediately thought of Laura Secord, a Canadian heroine in the War of 1812. Her name is now associated with the very famous chocolatier and ice cream company that was named after her. For my card, I wanted to re-create that act of heroism she is known for so I created a background scene with the birch trees from Autumn Groves. If I changed the sentiment, this would make a great Christmas card, too, don't you think? :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Remember to check back here on Saturday to see if you are the lucky winner of Jive Turkey!

Sources: SU Natural Ivory & Real Red cardstock; Gina K Designs pure luxury white cardstock; Paper Smooches Jive Turkey (available September 1st) & Autumn Groves; Memento Tuxedo Black & Rich Cocoa inks; Tim Holtz for Ranger Tumbled Glass, Broken China & Faded Denim distress inks; Copic markers; foam tape
