Libby Hickson's 'Tour de Craft' Guest Post

My sweet and very talented friend Libby Hickson invited me to guest on her blog this month as part of her Tour de Craft festivities celebrating the 100th Tour de France. As you all know, I am a bike freak. If there's a bike stamp to be had, I will have it. Well, most likely. For example, I own, or have owned, just about every bike stamp that Hero Arts has made. My husband has designed bikes for Cervelo, 3TDiamondback and Pivot. Our son even got his first bike at 22 months. To say the least, we love bikes so of course I agreed to make some bike cards for Libby!

The idea for this first card came from all my friends and family who participate in triathlons or ride long distances for fun. All stamps and dies are from Paper Smooches except for the Roma Background which is from Hero Arts. I created a cute little couple using the icons from Off the Charts. The tiny faces are from Sugar Rush and I made hair for the girl using the cherry stem from the same set. The bike is from Promenade and I created a custom sentiment using Word Salad and Vegtastic.

For my second feature, I made a card set using a stamp set that I just acquired. It's called Enjoy the Ride by Amuse Studio.

I love that it has a retro glider and a classic road bike in the same set along with a ton of fabulous sentiments that work for all occasions and age groups. I think I'll gift this to my husband's new boss.

The papers are from Teresa Collins' Far and Away paper pad and the blue twine is from Divine Twine.

I had intentions of making a lot more bike cards and even a scrapbook layout but time got away from me. Maybe you'll see more here later this month. ;)

Please be sure to visit Libby's blog to see all her fantastic bike cards, as well as her guests' cards, all month long. Thanks so much for stopping by!

How could you NOT jump in? So many awesome fun bikes, Emily! Love how you cobbled the PS card together from so many sets, and the pun in the set? YOU KNOW I love that!

Ha learned something new about you today...didn't realize you like bikes so much. I just recently got back on a bike and just love that feeling of freedom and the wind in your hair. Your bike cards today are wonderful. I love the couple and your use of different stamp sets for one card.
