{Neat & Tangled} October Release Week: Day 4 + Giveaway!

Welcome to Day 4 of Neat & Tangled's October Release! Today, the design team is featuring the Big Hugs die, designed by Danielle Walls, and the Polka and Scoop stencils, designed by Miriam Prantner! All of these products will also be available for purchase when the October release goes live tomorrow.

Both of the stencils in this release work with the Scandinavian Prints stamp set. My card features the Scoop stencil. It's made to help you create a background pattern using the floral images from the Scandinavian Prints stamp set. First, trim a 6x6 piece of cardstock to stamp on and secure it underneath the stencil. Then choose an accent stamp - I chose the squiggle lines for the top of the flowers - and stamp that in every scoop.

Then I used a blending tool with a paler shade of ink to sponge each scoop, creating multiple flowers. I love how the blending tool automatically creates shaded flowers with dimension! Yes, I was oohing and aahing over this for quite some time afterwards.

Next, stamp the stems under each scoop. Using a paler shade, stamp the leaves. I stamped all the leaves on the right side first, then stamped the leaves on the left side. I used the same colour of ink to stamp the veins on the right-sided leaves only.

After my background was done, I trimmed it down to a front panel for an A2 card base. Starting with a 6x6 panel allowed me to centre the pattern on my panel. Then I heat embossed a sentiment from Into the Woods on the flags from Scalloped Dies and adhered them to the front of the card, popping up the top one with foam tape for a bit of dimension.

There's a GIVEAWAY! Be sure to leave a comment on the Neat & Tangled Blog for your chance to win the Polka and Scoop stencils! There will ALSO be a $25 gift certificate drawn from all comments left on the design team blogs so be sure to leave one here, too! :)

All release products will be available for purchase tomorrow and I'll be updating my links at that time. See you again tomorrow!

Your background stencil/stamping is stunning! Love how the stencil makes it easy to keep things aligned, while the sponging gives dimension and subtle differences between flowers to add a lot of interest to the panel.

How absolutely gorgeous! Love your colour choices for the card and I think it's brilliant that the stencil was designed to work with the Scandinavian Print stamps. It works into such a lovely clean design.
