Hi, friends! I'm so happy to be joining My Favorite Things and their MFT & Friends feature for the June 2018 Release. The MFT design team is joined by several guest designers to inspire you with the new products!
A very good friend of mine is celebrating a birthday next week and she's a cat-lover so Meow Mix was the perfect set to use. We both own pretty much every cat set that MFT has ever produced and I know she's going to add this one to her wish list, too. ;)
To set the scene for the kitties and flowers, I stamped the Radiating Halftone Background and blended six distress inks across it to create a sunset. I used the same yellows and oranges for the hills, which were die cut with retired Scenic Safari border dies but Snow Drifts is an excellent alternative.
I used Copic markers to colour the images from Meow Mix and I used as much purple as possible, making all the flowers and butterflies purple, since that is my friend's favourite colour.
I used warm earthy colours to colour the cats so they would complement the bright colours in the background. I adhered three of the images flat on the card base and the other three were popped up with foam tape for balance and visual interest. To finish, I used a clear Wink of Stella marker to add some shimmer to the butterflies.
