I wasn't lucky enough to be assigned the coordinating
Stencil of the Month - Lively Floral but sure wish I had because it would've been so easy to add colour to this stunning heat foiled image!
While I was looking for books to add to my TBR list, I came across
Forget Me Not by Alyson Derrick and fell in love with the cover. The moment I saw the
Card Front Floral, I know I was going to use this cover illustration by Eugenia Zoloto as inspiration for my card.
Needless to say, I started with an
Alabaster card panel and foiled the large floral image using
Red Hot Foil. I really wanted to make this a one-layer card by placing the sentiments around it like on the book cover. I had cut small pieces of
Satin Rose Gold Hot Foil but the foil kept curling and moving so I ended up having to heat foil those separately.
As you can see, there are three separate sentiments on this card. "For You" and "Thanks" (the latter not featured here) are included with the Card Front Floral.
I created my own custom sentiment by adding "Happy" from Be Bold Glimmer Sentiments and "Congrats" from the Spring into Glimmer Sentiment Banner, which is now retired. An existing option is to use "Congrats" from Making Me Smile Sentiments.
I used the Solid Rectangle Glimmer Plate to create the reverse foiled "Congrats" from the Spring into Glimmer Sentiment Banner (or suggested alternate from Making Me Smile Sentiments).
To complete the cards, I simply die cut all three sentiments using coordinating dies from both the Be Bold Glimmer Sentiments and Spring into Glimmer Sentiment Banner. After glueing the Alabaster panel to the card base, I popped up the sentiments with foam squares.
