Unity FWF Blog Hop {Nov 12th}

Happy Friday and welcome to another FWF blog hop! Please be sure to get the full blog hop list from the Unity Blog. This card is an optical illusion, meaning that it did not turn out at all the way I imagined in my head, and you can see what you will in it. LOL It started off as a house and turned into a mobile/carousel. (I will be trying the house idea again at a later date.)

I used the darling animals from my all-time favourite July Kit in the same colours I seem to always use them (see other samples here and here) and hung them from the scalloped roof which I layered and ruffled for dimension and visual interest. I used the sentiment 'sweetness' as walls of the house or poles of the carousel. You can see in the close-up photos that I used the clouds background between the sentiments and I used a mask to do that. The roof, sentiment and clouds are from the October Kit.

The last steps were to string up those cutie pies, die cut some grass to complete the scene and add yet more twine to this card. I also used an Ippity burlap background around the edges of the card and sponged over top of it. I have quite a few friends having babies early in 2011 so this card will be going into that stash!

Unity Flair!

That's right! You found the blinkie!! Please leave a comment at the end of this post for a chance to win 25 random Unity stamps! I will choose the winner sometime tomorrow morning and post the lucky person's name right here on my blog as well as the FWF blog hop thread on Splitcoaststampers. Thanks for stopping by today and I'll see you again tomorrow! ;)

Oooh, an awesome card AND a blinkie! :D For me, your card is a mobile of a carousel... I think. Or maybe a carousel music box? Any way you look at it, it's a fab card. I love how you incorporated so many different elements into one cohesive whole. And just look at all that masking! ;)
