Unity Guest Designer Monday {Dec 6th}

Today's post is filled with Love and Happiness: Love for Unity and Happiness because I am Guest Designing for Unity this month and next! Okay, now that that you've all groaned and rolled your eyes, I'll tell you about my cards. LOL If this is your first time visiting my blog or if you've come over from the Unity Blog, welcome! If you're a regular, you know I love having you here. :D

My first card uses the scalloped bloom frame from the December Kit paired with a couple of images and a sentiment from the November Kit. The words in the frame say "Bloom and Grow" so you can use it for pretty much anything but the two things that come to mind are flowers and love (Valentine's Day, anniversaries, etc.). Since I hadn't played with the November Kit much, I chose to create a little garden scene with the watering can and hearts.

The water coming out of the can was created using caribbean baker's twine and rhinestones. Cross stitchers will be familiar with the technique of selecting two threads from the floss which is what I did here with the twine. I split the two caribbean pieces from the two white pieces. Little did I know that twine isn't actually dyed in segments but two completely separate colours! Oh, the things you learn when you take things apart. ;) I finished the card with the beautiful Og Mandino sentiment, "Do all things with Love."

For my second card, I used an oval image from the December Kit with a sentiment banner from the October Kit. The words inside the oval say, "Happiness is always available." I love that! The heart flower and gingham details in the rose, daisy and leaves are cute, too. I paired it with the "Happiness" banner from the October Kit because they offer the same emotion.

I hope you enjoyed today's post! Have a wonderful week!!
