RAKs for My New Home

Recently, I've had some comments which made me think, 'Am I complaining just for the sake of complaining or do I have a good reason to be whining?' I'd like to explain. When I say my life is hard, it's hard for me at the moment but I know things could be worse. I've been through a divorce. My Dad is a cancer survivor. I know how hard things can be. It's not like I haven't suffered in my life. Sometimes life is just hard and you never really know what it's like unless you've walked a mile in the same shoes, right? If it's hard for me, then I'm going to vent. Plain and simple. And at high stress times when everything goes wrong all at once, I sometimes lose it, like I did yesterday. The tears come and then I'm thankful for my amazing friends who always know what to say. Thank you, Sav and Julie!! You know what you did. :)

Speaking of amazing friends, I have a few RAKs to share with you all. They were all sent to me when I announced I had finally bought a house! I've had these for quite some time but one of them couldn't be blogged 'til recently so I held back to post them all together.

This first one is from Gay Peplow in the U.K. She makes me want to buy everything she creates with! Gay has a clean and simple style but she uses stamps I might not look twice at in the most unusual and stellar ways. I love her eye for detail and her designs are so unique. I love the detail in these houses and the way Gay left them uncoloured. I would never think to use the strip of embossed numbers the way she did on this card and it looks amazing!

This second card is from Angela H. who's coming to Toronto in December! I so cannot wait. I might actually get a photo of the two of us 'cause I know she's not allergic to cameras like Lindsey and Jen. :Þ I love all the colours and textures on Angela's card. Those subtle clouds at the top make the scene so quiet and peaceful, something I'm definitely looking forward to in the new house. LOL Angela also sent a little thank you from Simon for his get well card and some bicycle paper clips that made her think of me! I know, how many of you don't think of me when you see bikes and bike stamps? :D

Speaking of Jen Wills, this last card arrived the day Jen flew up for a wedding two short (or should I say long) weeks ago! I love the adorable little house stamp and I love how one house is coloured and popped, with love, to match the sunny ribbon. Jen also brought us a house-warming gift from Bermuda! Lately, I've learned that one can never have too many chopping boards and I love the vibrant colours of this one with a photo of a typical Bermudan house.

Thanks, ladies, for all your beautiful cards and gifts! They are proudly on display here in the condo and will be at my new house, too.

You are a sweetheart and it's not difficult to show love and encouragement to you...EVER!!!

Bad times are all relative and your bad days are YOUR bad days, so it's ok to have them and it's good to find strength in others to help you through them.

These cards are so beautiful...TFS!!

My awesome Em -- I love the RAKs (or at least, the RAKs that didn't come from my house!), and I'm glad you got such nice photos of mine, because I didn't remember to take any -- oops!

Now, vent away whenever you need to -- that's what the friends in your computer are for!

You can vent anytime, my friend (and anyone who doesn't like it can just get over it). I'm so sorry you had such a bad day and you're going through a rough patch right now. You so deserve to be happy--you're super fabulous! :) *hugs*

The cards are so awesome. I love how different they look but they are all CAS. Very cool! They will look great in your new digs.

I hear you Emily! And sending big, big hugs to you! It's ok to vent and get it out, that's why we are all here and in this together! It's a great, caring community and I love how our crafting really can ease the burdens that life gives us at times! Beautiful cards from your friends!

Hi Emily, I hope you are feeling better now..you know its really important to vent out and lose yourself sometimes. I do that too and then I cry. But then you feel better, you make your peace and move on. I hope things get better soon.

And you are really so lucky to have such fabulous friends (including me :D). I love that chopping board!

Sorry to hear you had a bad day with stuff - we all get them now and again, and it's good to let it out.

You're still allowed to complain though!!! Everyone needs to vent. :)

I'm glad that you are feeling better now, It's amazing what power our friends have huh?

You must be getting so excited for the move. I was really hoping to find a way to meet you in September when I was to be down for my friends wedding, but I may not be coming now, due to recent events! BUT I am hoping that this means I may be able to come down for the Derby World Championships. How cool, i would get to meet you and Angela!!
Take Care
{hugs}

Ignore the haters!! :) If you need to vent, then vent. Bad days are relative and sometimes a bunch of small things can be as hellish to deal with as a major trauma. Don't ever apologise for how you're feeling. And don't forget that you rock! Big big hugs to you!

Oh Emily - moving house is one of the most stressful things you'll do so don't you worry about venting a little! Love your RAKs and thank you for sharing them.

Hope you are feeling better today Emily....just vent out your feelings and you would feel a bit lighter friend.

I second Vicky H, this is stressful time for you and your family...everyone is allowed to have a rant and moan, better than bottling it up :)
Thanks for sharing your cards, they're all very special :)

Indeed? I didn't think, you had so many cards and sketches for your new house. I think, you can definitely add your offers to https://planner5d.com/gallery/floorplans/lighting/ developers to make everybody's home brighter and happier. I like this tool when start to work on the house renovation. And your ideas will be the best addition for it!
