There are a couple of oops moments when I rip my mask and drop my acrylic block on the floor. It was so hard not to burst out laughing in the middle of my video! LOL
For my first card sample, I made a one-layer clean and simple card using four different stamps. First, I created a mask for the Fleurettes so I could mask it and stamp the Designer Woodgrain around it. Then I used "I hope your birthday is as special as you are" from Many Birthday Messages combined with "lovely" from Heyday Sentiments.
Many of you have asked me about using two different ink colours on my sentiments so now you know my secret. It's washi tape! If you're like me and don't want to cut apart your stamps, this is the perfect solution.
For my second card sample, I combined "life is better with friends" from Hey Y'All with "miss you" from Heyday Sentiments. I created a little romantic scene to go with the sentiment by stamping and fussy cutting the Cityscape in three different colours. I used pale ink colours because I wanted to add the hearts and wood veneer people. After stamping the little hearts from XO, I attached the wood veneer people and added glossy accents to the hearts.
Scramble participants are eligible to win two prizes: (1) Hero Arts is offering a digi prize and (2) I am offering the prize of a cling stamp, Etched Flowers, and diamond gems (shown below). Both winners will be drawn using Random.org from all entries uploaded to the Hero Arts Flickr Gallery using the tag "quickcard45". The only limit is the time and you must use Hero Arts stamps (digis count). Your card(s) must also be photographed and uploaded into the gallery within the time allowed. If you are also making clean and simple cards or if your project fits into one of the other Hero Arts August Contest categories, remember to use the tag "August2012A" as well. I look forward to seeing all of your fabulous projects. Thanks so much for playing along!

Beautiful cards Emily - and you video was very interesting....
TFS!
Great cards - I love how you mixed the sentiments from the different sets. I'll have to give that a try.
Sorry I missed the scramble :( Love the video and your always awesome cards!
Gorgeous cards!!!! :) And I love the video. :)
Hi Emily, me again. ;) My short term memory isn't working very well and I forgot to ask you my question when I wrote my comment... ;) lol So my question is: what paper do you use to create your masks? I use post-it but there's just a little line of stickiness so it doesn't hold in place very well. I'm eager to know what you use. :)
Lovely! The color in the sentiment really adds the perfect finishing touch!! Looks great!
Hugs, Wendy
Great video and cards, Emily. Thanks for the sentiment masking tips.
Oh my, is your first card ever GORGEOUS! Love the colors.
Ah, those oopsies are fun! Well, maybe fun isn't the right word - but they're REAL. They happen to everyone :) And I would have totally gotten the giggles!
Love the cards - both are simply gorgeous - and I love the veneer couple! Too sweet :)
Loved the video! And both cards :)
I thought you were amazing in your video. They look so easy but I know that they are so hard to make and edit! Your cards are, as always, amazing!
Fabulous video (I like that it's not just me who has 'oops' moments! LOL!)
Your cards are fabulous! Love the stamping of your gorgeous CAS one and the fun design of the second!
Hugs!

hey great video GF....love what you created....
Gorgeous cards, Emily!!! I tried to take a quick nap before the scramble and I slept right through it :( I am so bummed that I missed it. Going to check out the video right now!
Excellent video! It's fun seeing you (well, your arms) in a big fleece in the middle of such a hot summer! :P When you mixed-and-matched the two sentiments on your first card, did you see ahead of time how perfectly the 'l's would frame the line above? Both cards are beautiful. Love the creative stretching of your sentiment stamps!
Love them both of course. Holla for the stamp mix master!!! <3
awesome cards...Love your video and how you changed the sentiment...love it.
Great video Emily, that's a wonderful way to stretch sentiment stamps a lot further. Both cards are fantastic as well!
I'm watching way too late to join in the fun, but I still can't wait to try this technique! Thanks for the great video, off to create!
I haven't watched the video yet (too early for sound in this house), but the cards? Holy cats, Em, I love them! The mix of pattern/image/color on the first, the simplicity (and shininess) of the second -- just awesome! Hope the Scramble went well!
Wonderful video!
It's great to hear your lovely voice ;-))
Thank you for sharing these two wonderful cards!
These are AWESOME cards!
Love these cards and your techniques!
