{Hero Arts Holiday Challenge} Snowman Joy Tags

I made a set of gift tags for the Hero Arts Holiday Challenge that runs from October 13th through December 1st. There are three creative options for this challenge and I chose the last one:
  • Deck the Cards – ‘Tis the season for decking the halls…and of course the cards, too! Use at least one Hero Arts embellishment to deck-out your holiday card. A few options include metallic decor, gems, pearls, and felt embellishments.
  • Merry and Bright – Brighten up your holidays with NEON! Use any Hero Arts neon ink or neon dauber on your project.
  • A Few of My Favorite Things – Create any Christmas/Holiday/Winter card with a favorite stamping technique plus a Hero Arts holiday stamp.

One of my favourite things to do is half-paper piece and half colour an image. It's a great compromise when I don't feel like using just one technique to dress up an image. When I'm making multiples, it also makes it easier and more fun, too! I stamped the Collage Music Background on the Ticket Frame Cuts. Then I stamped the large snowman from Snow Much Joy on to its coordinating Snowman Frame Cut. I paper pieced the hats and scarves with Echo Park's This & That Christmas paper pad, and shaded the faces and bodies with Copic markers. All Copic products are 25% off at Simon Says Stamp!

Have you played along with the Hero Arts Holiday Challenge? You have 'til December 1st to join in on the fun for a chance to win one of the four $50 shopping sprees to the Hero Arts Online Store!

{Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge} Sketch with Authentique/Jane's Doodles

Welcome to the third Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge in November! This week's challenge is based on Heather's sketch and the design team is featuring Authentique and/or Jane's Doodles products.

You don't need to use Authentique or Jane's Doodles products but we'd love to see them if you have them! Just make sure your projects are inspired by Heather's sketch. My card features patterned papers from Authentique's Be(you)tiful 6x6 paper pad. All papers, except the card base and vellum are from the same collection.

I used the Falling Snow stencil and embossing paste on the top two-thirds of the card. After that dried, I layered the Hero Arts Fancy Snowflake die behind the stitched Paper Smooches Paper die panel. I stamped the snowman from Hero Arts' Snow Much Joy on its coordinating die and paper pieced it. Then I stamped the sentiment from the new Deer stamp set on patterned paper, also from Be(you)tiful, fussy cut it and adhered it to the card. To finish, I die cut smaller Paper Smooches Snowflakes from vellum and tucked them between the panels.

Since my card features several Hero Arts products, I'm entering it in their Holiday Challenge in the favourite stamping technique category for paper piecing.

One winner will be chosen at random to win a $50 gift voucher to the awesome Simon Says Stamp Store!

It could be you!

I hope you will play along with us this week!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful Wednesday. :)
