VIDEO | Taylored Expressions | 4 Cards feat. Create-in-Quad Peaceful Pines + Foil It Winter Blessings

Taylored Expressions has released the next in the Create-in-Quads Layering Stencils and you're going to love it! I'm thrilled to be introducing Create-in-Quads Peaceful Pines, the eighth of the Create-in-Quads series.

I'm sharing four cards in my video. They all feature the Create-in-Quads Peaceful Pines, Foil It Winter Blessings sentiment panels and coordinating Winter Blessings Dies. Three of the cards feature a portrait design and one has a landscape design. I selected Pink Champagne, Guava, Spearmint, Poblano Pepper and Chocolate Truffle inks for my stencilling. I love this pretty, non-traditional colour combo for holiday/winter cards!

After the stencilling was complete, I used my Mini Minc Foil Applicator with Deco Foil Sheets in Scattered Stars to create the stunning sentiments. They were then cut out using the coordinating Winter Blessings Dies. You can also find the original Winter Blessings sentiments HERE or in this video.

I love the way the Scattered Stars look on those letters! They provide so much dept to the sentiments and the sparkle adds that wow factor. I love how full this first panel looks with all the trees and snow.

After stencilling the snow very lightly with Spearmint ink, I added Happy Medium in Iridescent Glitter on top. It adds dimension and a festive sparkle which I love!

This second card also uses the Frame-in-Frame 3 Die, a former freebie but now available for purchase. I popped it up with foam strips and I love the way the snow extends up and over that frame.

This third card uses the largest of the Diagonal Stitch Rectangle Stacklets, another favourite and often-used die in my stash. I love the detail it adds without bulk or distraction.

One other feature I added to all four cards was the use of the Gathered Stars Die cut from Pineapple cardstock. I used five different sizes of stars on the different cards and topped some of the trees with them. The pop of yellow is a pretty addition to the pink and teal trees.

My last card features both the Stitched Rectangle Stacklets and Petite Scallop Rectangle Stacklets, the latter of which was cut diagonally from vellum and matte silver foil

Fall Pick-N-Mix Patterned Paper

Another fabulous fall collection? Count me in! And let me use as many pumpkins as possible. I remember how popular these pumpkins were and that there were many restocks. In fact, I thought about playing with them the other day, just because. ;)

Catherine Pooler Designs | Groovy Birthday

I had planned to post this yesterday but between my sciatica, not being able to sit for long periods and losing my mojo over the discomfort, I had a hard time with the design. I was finally able to finish it today and I'm delighted with the way it turned out! I hope my friend likes it, too. ;)

The featured stamp set Let the Good Times Roll and coordinating dies are both on sale for a limited time so be sure to check those out! I started by using the Star Stencilblending brushes and Pucker UpCatching RaysAquatini and Serenade to ink blend the background. I left the stencil in place and used a palette knife to apply Moonstone Glimmer Paste. Then I set that aside to dry.

Using another panel, I stamped the sentiment from Let the Good Times Roll, used mint tape to mask off the stamped area and ink blended the same colours - Pucker UpCatching RaysAquatini and Serenade - above and below the sentiment.

I stamped the roller-skates, again with Midnight ink, then heat embossed it with WOW! Black Twinkle embossing powder. I quickly used a brush and Pucker UpCatching RaysAquatini and Serenade inks to 'watercolour' the skates. As a special touch, I added two white silk bows to the roller-skates. To finish, I trimmed the sentiment panel, popped it up with foam tape and attached the roller-skates to the card.

VIDEO | IG Giveaway feat. Catherine Pooler Designs Date Night Ink Collection

Today's card and video are part of Catherine Pooler's Date Night Ink Promo and Giveaway on Instagram. Please head over to my corresponding Instagram post for all the details and comment for your chance to win!

My card features the Hearts-n-Tags Dies, Hey There Dumpling, Love Note Background and, of course, five of the eight new Date Night Inks. I started by using blender brushes to ink blend Do-Si-Do, Catching Rays, In The Park, Cummerbund and Serenade on a panel.

I die cut the heart circles from that ink blended panel and I especially love the ones that show two ink colours overlapping. I determined the arrangement before inking up the edges of the card base to match.

Using the Love Note Background [on sale through February 5, 2021], I created a torn mask to cover the centre of the panel, before inking up the background stamp with Do-Si-DoCatching RaysIn The ParkCummerbund and Serenade in the exact same order as the die cut circles and card base border.

After stamping the background and removing the mask, I used the small heart border from the Hearts-n-Tags Dies to create a stencil. Then I used Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone to add little hearts on an angle at the top left and bottom right corners of the stamped panel.

After the stencilled panel is completely dry, I pop up four of the die cuts with foam tape for some dimension. Then I double stamped the two tiny sentiments from Hey There Dumpling directly on the panel, as well as the die cut, so the sentiment can be read clearly.

Please head over to Instagram, be sure to follow me there and leave a comment for your chance to win! To increase your chances of winning, follow and comment on all posts with the hashtag #cpdatenightinks between January 25-29, 2021.

VIDEO | Taylored Expressions | Cozy Cards for Autumn and Thanksgiving featuring NEW Stencils

Hello, friends! I hope the fall weather is nice where you are. It's been quite cool here but we've had big swings in temperature with a lot of rain so I wanted to make some uplifting cards for the season and U.S. Thanksgiving! These cards feature three of the 12 new stencils from Taylored Expressions' latest release. My video also shows you the beautiful new pastel blender brushes and tool tray. I hope you enjoy it!

I apologize in advance for the photo-heavy post but with three cards, I can't help but share how beautiful these stencils are! My first card features the A New Leaf Stencil with the On the Block Happy and Building Blocks Happy Additions stamp sets and coordinating dies.

Using my blender brushes, I used three of greens and blues on each leaf and alternated the greens and blues between rows. You can find the six ink colours in the supply list below.

I heat embossed the sentiment on coloured cardstock which makes it super sparkly and ups the wow factor of the card. I kept the overall design very simple to let the stencil take centre stage.

My second card features the Falling Happy Stencil with the Simply Smitten and Building Blocks Happy Additions stamp sets. I just love how the words on this stencil appear to be twinkling like lights and fade away.

I coloured the sweet bear and his pumpkins with Copic markers. The sentiment strip is a supplement to the stencil so it reads 'Happy Happy Happy Thanksgiving'. All of the elements are popped up with sticky circles and sticky strips.

Canadian Thanksgiving is over but I'm looking forward to sending cards to my friends and family in the U.S. next month.

This last card might be my favourite but you'll have to let me know! It features the Play the Angle Stencil which is something I tend to do with backgrounds and embossing paste anyway so I definitely had to have it. I added the hanging vines from Simply Smitten and a secondary sentiment from Building Blocks Happy Additions to complete this card.

Using the Rectangle Masking Stencil over the Play the Angle Stencil, I was able to create a white border on the panel. I used the same three green inks to create an ombre effect, then added matte texture paste over top for dimension.

You still have time to earn six free stencil strips with every $100+ purchase at the Taylored Expressions store during the month of October.

{Altenew Video} March 2018 Inspiration Challenge featuring Build-A-Flower: Sakura Blossom

I needed to make a couple of sympathy cards and I thought that the colours from Altenew's March 2018 Inspiration Challenge would be a great place to start. When I was asked to feature the Build-A-Flower: Sakura Blossom at release time, I wanted to share a video tutorial but I didn't have time so I thought this would be a great opportunity to share how easy it is to create these beautiful 3D flowers.

Since I go into detail on video about how these cards were made, I won't write too much about it. The ink colours that I thought matched perfectly with the challenge colours are Caramel Toffee, Coral Berry and Dusk. I chose the remaining shades based on the sets those colours belonged to.

I used pearlescent embossing paste and sparkle embossing powder with the Watercolor Stripes Stencil. On both of these cards, I also used sentiments from Thinking of You

I used white glitter dots in the centres of the flowers on the first card to match the embossing paste. Enamel dots in coordinating colours were added to the second card since it was a more clean and simple design.

Altenew's March 2018 Inspiration Challenge runs for the duration of the month - and there's a new challenge every month - so be sure to play along! You can enter as many times as you like. Four lucky winners will receive a $30 gift certificate to the Altenew store.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
