Paper Crafts magazine presents: WCMD Blog Hop with the Winners of the 2012 WCMD Contest!

Hello and welcome to the World Card Making Day Blog Hop with the Winners of the 2012 World Card Making Day Contest! All 20 of us are delighted to be participating in this hop today. We've made cards in our winning category which means I'll be sharing a Hello/Thinking of You card. As you hop along, each of us will have some card-making advice for you as we approach World Card Making Day itself - click here to join the blog tour tomorrow - as well as the deadline for the 2013 World Card Making Day Contest!
The card I'm sharing with you today features Mama Elephant stamps. I thought it would be fitting following this week's announcement. Instead of writing about how I made the card, how 'bout a quick video?

Here are some stills of my card:

My advice on how to win the 2013 World Card Making Day Contest would be to create as if you were submitting to Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine. After all, the winning cards will be published. However, these cards will be judged in person so make sure that you are using quality products that are current. If you make a mistake or there's even a slight smudge, start over with a clean slate. Follow the design principles and create in your own personal style. Don't try to mimic what's been done before or something you believe will win. Create when you're feeling your best so you can do your best. If you're inspired, make one card for every category. Spread out your chances, i.e. don't dump all your eggs in one basket. Most importantly, have fun! Best of luck to all of you who enter this year's contest. I hope you get that email on decision day. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to visit Paper Crafts Connection and comment for a chance to win one of three prizes. Next on the hop is my sweet friend Heather Hoffman!
