Ellen Hutson | World Card Making Day IG Hop + Giveaway + Sale!

Ellen Hutson's World Card Making Day Release is available NOW and the Brand Ambassadors are celebrating with an Instagram Hop to bring you inspiration using these fabulous new products! While appreciated, comments left here are not eligible for one of three $25 gift certificates. Please head to Instagram for all the details!

I featured the entire release on my trio of cards featuring the cutest bear in the Essentials by Ellen collection! If you're a fan of the Bear Ware sets, then you'll definitely want to add this new Grand Tour set to your stash. I love travelling, miss it, and these new sets are perfect for me!

I just love all the adorable travel accessories included in Grand Tour, especially the passport and baguette! I decided to heat emboss the images on coloured cardstock to keep things simple and consistent when presenting the set.  You can find all of the Bazzill colours, Sizzix gold and Memory Box woodgrain listed in the supply list below.

I used all of the same colours on every card but in different areas and proportions. I created scenes for France, Italy and England! Of course, this Grand Tour bear and all his accessories can be used with all of the other Bear Ware sets and more.

The Merci and Cheers cards use the A World of Thanks sentiment set but the Italian card needed a larger Ciao sentiment so I used the Letterboard Large Alpha to create that sentiment. Then I added smaller Ciao stamps to add more cheer.

I added a few extras from previously-release Bear Ware sets, including the coffee mug from Bear Ware 3, the cat from Bear Ware 2, and the flower from Bear Ware. I also added googly eyes to the bears to give them extra personality.

I added extra texture to the land masses on the Cheers card using the A2 Piercing Plate 2. I added bits of gold on every card in various elements to tie them all together. These little scenes were so much fun to assemble!

Be sure to click HERE to head to Instagram and begin the hop for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate to EllenHutson.com! There's also an amazing sale TODAY ONLY. Click on the banner below to take advantage of 20% off with code wcmd21!

WCMD Blog Hop with Technique Tuesday

Hello and welcome to Technique Tuesday's World Card Making Day Blog Hop! In honour of this special day in our crafting community, Technique Tuesday has released a stamp set called You're Owlsome with coordinating You're Owlsome Crafting Dies. The design team and several special guests are excited to share their creations using this fabulous set and I have details below on how to get it FREE with purchase! There is also a giveaway so be sure to hop along for your chance to win and be inspired.

I adore these owls and the details on them, as well as the beautiful sentiments with dual fonts. I love sentiments that combine straight and scripted fonts and these ones are so great for uplifting cards.

I used my Gansai paint set to watercolour two encouragement cards. Individual colours are included in the supply list below. The images and sentiments were heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Since I used a rainbow of colours on the owls, I created a rainbow wash for the backgrounds and added black and white splatter, as well as golden copper star sequins on the blue card and crystal star sequins on the red card.

GIVEAWAY: Technique Tuesday is giving away a gift certificate to one lucky winner chosen randomly from all the stops on this hop. The more you comment, the higher your chances of winning! Comments will close on Monday, October 8, 2018 and the winner will be announced on the Technique Tuesday Blog on Wednesday, October 10, 2018.

SPECIAL PROMOTION: You can get the You're Owlsome stamp set for free with any $30 purchase on the Technique Tuesday website. Simply add $30 worth of products into your cart (I'd  suggest the You're Owlsome Crafting Dies), add the You're Owlsome stamp set to your cart and enter code WCMD18 at checkout to get the stamp set for free!

World Card Making Day Blog Tour + Giveaway

Welcome to my stop on the World Card Making Day Blog Tour! As a cardmaker, I'm delighted to be celebrating today with a punny baby card using Paper Smooches stamps and dies. This card is covered with patterned papers from My Mind's Eye's Bluebell and Oliver paper pads. When I start paper piecing, it's hard to stop because it's so much fun and I love the look of coordinated colours in different patterns.

This card features the Pip Squeaks, Bee Mine and He Said, She Said stamp sets, along with the Notebook Basic die. I used one of the speech bubbles from He Said, She Said as a countertop for the pie.

Giveaway

I have a couple of supplies that have sat in my stash untouched for a while so I'd like to give them a home where they'll be loved and used! They are Studio Calico's Ampersand Mask and My Favorite Things' Right on Target stamp set. Simply leave a comment on this post before Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. EST. I will select a winner via Random.org and announce it here on Monday, October 7th. You must be a follower of my blog. If the winner does not contact me by Friday, October 11, 2013, the prize will be forfeited.

Paper Crafts magazine presents: WCMD Blog Hop with the Winners of the 2012 WCMD Contest!

Hello and welcome to the World Card Making Day Blog Hop with the Winners of the 2012 World Card Making Day Contest! All 20 of us are delighted to be participating in this hop today. We've made cards in our winning category which means I'll be sharing a Hello/Thinking of You card. As you hop along, each of us will have some card-making advice for you as we approach World Card Making Day itself - click here to join the blog tour tomorrow - as well as the deadline for the 2013 World Card Making Day Contest!
The card I'm sharing with you today features Mama Elephant stamps. I thought it would be fitting following this week's announcement. Instead of writing about how I made the card, how 'bout a quick video?

Here are some stills of my card:

My advice on how to win the 2013 World Card Making Day Contest would be to create as if you were submitting to Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking magazine. After all, the winning cards will be published. However, these cards will be judged in person so make sure that you are using quality products that are current. If you make a mistake or there's even a slight smudge, start over with a clean slate. Follow the design principles and create in your own personal style. Don't try to mimic what's been done before or something you believe will win. Create when you're feeling your best so you can do your best. If you're inspired, make one card for every category. Spread out your chances, i.e. don't dump all your eggs in one basket. Most importantly, have fun! Best of luck to all of you who enter this year's contest. I hope you get that email on decision day. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Be sure to visit Paper Crafts Connection and comment for a chance to win one of three prizes. Next on the hop is my sweet friend Heather Hoffman!
