Interactive Musical Birthday Card feat. Avery Elle and Lawn Fawn

Happy weekend, craft friends! If you still read my blog, you may remember last year's POST featuring another cute band of musical animals. Tomorrow, one of Damian's friends turns 16 and I'm pretty sure that if it were up to my son, this wouldn't have been the card of his choice. Lucky for me, I've been talking to the birthday boy's mother and she said that he would absolutely love a cute card! I was so happy about that. ;)

The last time I used Avery Elle's Forest Dance Party stamp set and coordinating dies was when Damian and I collaborated on this CARD for Father's Day last year. This set is currently on clearance at all stores listed in the links below so be sure to grab it before it's gone! Both Damian and his friend play drums but they also play trumpet and guitar, respectively, so these animals are absolutely perfect for this card.

I stamped all of the images and sentiments with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and clear heat embossed them on watercolour cardstock. Then I used mini distress inks smooshed on a silicone mat to watercolour them. When they were dry, I die cut them and set them aside to work on the Reveal Wheel panel from watercolour cardstock and ink blended it (top down) using Shaded LilacWilted VioletDusty ConcordFaded JeansChipped SapphirePeeled Paint and Forest Moss distress inks. Then I splattered the panel with Tsukineko Sparkle Shimmer Spritz.

I cut a piece of My Favorite Things Colorful Canvas patterned paper in Chantilly Cream and cut it with the Spellbinders Precision Layering A2 A Dies so it would cover the card base. Then I cut the wheel itself from heavyweight white cardstock as well as from Lawn Fawn's Really Rainbow patterned paper in Purple Posies. Then I used the Reveal Wheel Friends & Family Sentiments to heat emboss on the wheel before assembling all the pieces on the card base.

Catherine Pooler | Summer Nights Collection | Release Day

It's Release Day over at Catherine Pooler and the Summer Nights Collection is now available for purchase! All products are live and today's card combines products from the S'mores Please Bundle with the previously released Melon Edge Dies and Scallops & Dots Dies.

I used Copic markers to colour the images from the Happy Camper Stamp Set, die cut them with the coordinating dies and used a quick trimmer to cut around the arms of the badger and raccoon so they could hold the sticks and marshmallows.

I used the Melon Edge Dies with S'mores Please Patterned Paper and premium cardstock. To create the grass panel, I ink blended the panel with Sage and Spruce inks. Then I splattered the panel with a brush and gold and black paint.

I used the three-line sentiment on a single line using Sage and Black Jack inks. Then I arranged and assembled the scene on panels cut from Scallops & Dots Dies and S'mores Please Patterned Paper.

I'll see you again tomorrow for more inspiration featuring the Summer Nights Collection. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Catherine Pooler | Summer Nights Collection | StampNation Early Ordering

It's time to share inspiration for Catherine Pooler's Summer Nights Collection! All of these new products will be available to StampNation members TODAY, May 3rd at 12pm EST and for General Ordering tomorrow, May 4th at 9am EST. New product links will go live at the times indicated when you're signed in and, as always, existing products are available for purchase now.

My card features products from both the S'mores Please Bundle and Cosmic Extras Bundle. I used Copic markers to colour the images from the Happy Camper Stamp Set, die cut them with the coordinating dies and used a quick trimmer to cut around the arms of both animals so they could hold the stick and s'mores.

To create the frame, I used the three largest Round About Dies on a piece of S'mores Please Patterned Paper, then stitched it with Tin DMC Embroidery floss. Before adhering the circle to the panel, I gauged its position and stamped the sentiment from the Round About Messages Stamp Set with Black Jack ink.
I ink blended the centre piece with Cove Blue, Sage and Spruce, then splattered it with white gold paint.

I'll see you again tomorrow for more inspiration featuring the Summer Nights Collection. Thanks so much for stopping by!

VIDEO | Aurora Borealis Masculine Birthday Card

I made this card for a parent at my son's school to surprise her husband with a trip to Iceland to see the northern lights for his 60th birthday. It was nice to be able to mix and match various brands just for fun! I should do it more often - you know, in my spare time. LOL

I used HoneyBee Stamps' incredible set of Winter Wonder Scene Builder stencils to create the different layers of mountains, terrain and even the northern lights. In my video, I state exactly which colours I use for the different layers but you can always find all of the distress ink colours listed in my supply list below.

I used Altenew's Bold Numerals die set and fun foam to pop up the number 60 at the centre of the card. I tend to reach for these numbers dies when I have to customize a card. They make a big impact and they're also large enough to accommodate small sentiments inside the numbers.

The Paper Smooches scripted Happy Birthday Words were die cut from olive green and black glitter cardstock, then layered to create a shadow effect and coordinate with the northern lights.

Thanks so much for watching!

{Evelin T Designs} Featured Stamp Set: It's BOO-tastic!

On this eve of Halloween, I'm on the Evelin T Designs blog with a card featuring the new stamp set It's BOO-tastic! (also sold at EH | SSS). I loved creating this masked one-layer card with these adorably spooky images. I started by stamping the images and creating masks for them. I stamped the pumpkins first on watercolour cardstock, placed the mask to protect it and stamped the rest of the images.

After stamping all of the images, I left their masks in place, cut a hill from masking paper and sponged the background with distress inks. Then I splattered the background with water and two distress spray stains. Then I removed the masks and used distress inks to watercolour the images.

If you are celebrating, I hope you all have a wonderful Halloween, whether you're trick-or-treating with your kids or having a party in your home or elsewhere.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

{Evelin T Designs} Featured Stamp Set: All Hallow's Cuteness

Happy Monday! I'm on the Evelin T Designs blog today with a card featuring the new stamp set All Hallow's Cuteness (also sold at EH | SSS). These Halloween illustrations are as cute as can be! I used the bird, bear, bunny and cat who are all ready for trick or treating in their costumes. It's so easy to create scenes with these cuties.

I stamped all of the images and coloured them using Copic markers. Then I stamped the images again on masking paper and covered the coloured images so I could sponge the background with distress inks.

After all of the colouring and ink blending was done, I used shimmer mist to splatter the panel. It adds a feeling of 'magic' to the scene, as if the bear fairy and cat witch are casting a spell on the bunny. The shimmer is hard to capture on camera but is so pretty in person.

If you missed the September Release Blog Hop, head over to THIS post to see more inspiration and leave a comment by 11:59 p.m. PST on September 22, 2019 for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the Evelin T Designs online store.

{Save the Crafty YouTuber Video Hop} featuring Paper Smooches with Store Coupon + Giveaways!

Welcome to the 3rd Save the Crafty YouTuber Video Hop! I'm so honoured to be participating in this event, organized by the fabulous Justine Hovey, and you can find all the details on her blog HERE.

I'm featuring many Paper Smooches stamps and dies in my video and I'm sharing a shop coupon, which appears twice in my video, so be sure to watch carefully and have a pen ready to write that down that coupon code for a wonderful discount!

I made four cards with the Splash stamp set and Splash Icons, and I managed every image in the set except the whale's tail. It could also be used as a mermaid's tail, if you wanted to get creative. ;)

The other die set featured across all four cards is the Water Dies, which is an absolute must-have  since it can be used as water, grass, sand and even party streamers! On my first card, featuring the beaver, I used it to cut windows for a shaker element.

I use the ink blended Water Dies cut from the beaver card on the shark card, as additional waves. I love the layered look of the coordinating die cuts, which adds even more depth to the water.

The top edge of both the beaver and shark water panels were cut with one of the Waves Dies. This has been one of my go-to sets for years. The sentiment on the shark card is from the Super stamp set.

The next technique I used on the duck card was to dry emboss with the Water Dies. This worked out perfectly since I ink blended a single panel with a sky-to-sea transition.

The glittery white Curly Clouds were a perfect balance to the dry embossed waves. The sentiment on this card is from the Group Hugs stamp set, another one of my well-loved sentiment sets.

On my otter card, I added several glittery white die cuts to the panel. I also used one of the dies to create a slit in the panel so I could tuck the 'beaver's paws' behind the wave. It's holding a clam shell from the Summer Lovin stamp set.

As always, all of the detailed instructions are on the video, and all of the supplies I used on these cards are in the supply links below. Don't forget to use the Paper Smooches shop coupon that appears in my video. The coupon code is valid for the duration of this video hop.

There are so many prizes to be won. Some video artists are giving away a specific prize but our sponsors are giving away prizes to anyone who comments. The more love you leave, the higher your chances of winning!

Thanks so much for hopping with us!

{Technique Tuesday} May 2019 Release Blog Hop

Welcome to  Technique Tuesday's May 2019 Release Blog Hop! The design team is featuring a variety of release products and you're sure to love them so be sure to head over to the Technique Tuesday blog for the full reveal and links to all of the amazing projects. All of the amazing new products are now available for purchase!

Today, I'm featuring the Alligators and Crocodiles stamp set and coordinating dies. I know I say it every month but Technique Tuesday continues to outdo itself with every Animal House Collection release. These alligators and crocodiles have the most hilarious expressions and I love the super suspicious birds! LOL I'm amazed by the detail in their tiny eyes!

The images in this set were so fun to watercolour, which I did with distress inks after heat embossing. I picked my colours for the alligators, crocodiles and birds, then used the same colours to ink blend three panels which were die cut using the Cars on the Border Dies.

After the panels were ink blended, I used shimmer spritz to create splatter on them, to give dimension to the sunset, sand and marsh areas.

I also heat embossed the fun sentiment, which is one of the most unique sentiments I've ever come across. In fact, this set has the best snarky sentiments I've seen in a long time! If I were just starting my Animal House Collection, I'd pick Alligators and Crocodiles as my first set.

Be sure to hop along for more inspiration featuring products from the May 2019 Release!

Thanks so much for hopping along with us!
