Avery Elle | Totally Awesome Slimline Card

I had these Copic-coloured images from Avery Elle's retired Stoked stamp set lying around for years and I found them recently while cleaning up my craft area. Normally, I don't keep scraps because it's quite obvious that I never use them. I really love the cute boys in this set so that's probably why I hung on to them. The third boy in the set is a drummer and since my son plays drums, I'll be hanging on to this set even though it's retired.

I used two different Hero Arts ombre inks to stamp the solid speech bubbles and created a background scene that was reminiscent of a lot of mountain areas that literally have two different seasons at different elevations.

I created the background using the Honey Bee Stamps Winter Wonder Background stencils, distress inks and Taylored Expressions Blender Brushes. This particular slimline card measures 3.5" x 7.5" and I love that I can use the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board to create the perfect size envelope for it!

Mother's Day Card from My Son

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers and mother figures out there! I am missing my mom today more than words can say. In fact, I cried all morning and it was several hours before I could even look decent enough for a Mother's Day photo with my son. As difficult as today was, it was definitely a day to be celebrated. My son made me the cutest card using products from Ellen Hutson, Simon Hurley create, Concord & 9th and Honey Bee Stamps.

My son used adorable images from Ellen Hutson's Essentials by Ellen line, including All Inside, Bear Ware 4, Bear Ware and Bear Ware 3, to create the most adorable scene. Yes, that's me with my favourite bunny and my son drinking a Starbucks. I thought he bought me a Starbucks but my husband is sure our son got it for himself. LOL

My son combined two sentiments from Simon Hurley create's Supermom! stamp set and he masked off the block-lettered 'mom' and stamped PanPan (my nickname from the We Bare Bears) using Concord & 9th's Perfectly Penned stamp set. Then he used Honey Bee Stamps' Winter Wonder Background stencils to create the background. To finish, he added gold enamel hearts.

VIDEO | Aurora Borealis Masculine Birthday Card

I made this card for a parent at my son's school to surprise her husband with a trip to Iceland to see the northern lights for his 60th birthday. It was nice to be able to mix and match various brands just for fun! I should do it more often - you know, in my spare time. LOL

I used HoneyBee Stamps' incredible set of Winter Wonder Scene Builder stencils to create the different layers of mountains, terrain and even the northern lights. In my video, I state exactly which colours I use for the different layers but you can always find all of the distress ink colours listed in my supply list below.

I used Altenew's Bold Numerals die set and fun foam to pop up the number 60 at the centre of the card. I tend to reach for these numbers dies when I have to customize a card. They make a big impact and they're also large enough to accommodate small sentiments inside the numbers.

The Paper Smooches scripted Happy Birthday Words were die cut from olive green and black glitter cardstock, then layered to create a shadow effect and coordinate with the northern lights.
