VIDEO | Simon Hurley create. | Trick or Treat Halloween Card

Today, I'm sharing a cute Halloween card made with products from Simon Hurley create. I used Artie dressed as a mummy and the Unikitty from the Trick or Treat Stamp Set, as well as the Ghosted Stencil.

I created the ombre background using Minty Fresh, Remember Me and Midnight Snack ink pads on Simon Hurley create. stark white cardstock. I just love these three colours together and they blend so well into one another!

I stamped, heat embossed and watercolored Artie and Unikitty with Simon Hurley create. reinkers in a Tim Holtz ink palette. All of the colours I used are listed in the supply links below. I added a vellum layer so the images would stand out against the relatively busy background. I restamped Unikitty on the vellum panel since I cut off her whiskers while fussy cutting.

All of the heat embossing was done with WOW! embossing powders. To finish, I die cut a thin frame from graphite foil cardstock using A2 rectangle dies. This frames the scene nicely against the busy background while still allowing every element to shine.

VIDEO | Simon Hurley create. | Twin Birthday Cards

Did you know that Simon Hurley create. hosts a monthly challenge on the Ranger Ink blog? The August monthly prompt is birthday cards and all you need to do is use the hashtag #SHcreatedtocreate on Instagram or Facebook to be entered to win a Simon Hurley create. prize package!

My latest video features girl/boy birthday cards for my neighbour's twins who are turning 9 next week. I used the Cake Walk, Doodle Florals and Timber! stamp sets on these cards. The two cards are almost exactly the same but use different colours. I used Simon Hurley create. reinkers to watercolour all of the images from Cake Walk and Timber! I used the rock 'n' roll technique to stamp the layered flowers from Doodle Florals.

For this design, I had to draw a body for Artie the Bear so he wouldn't be floating in midair. I fussy cut extra trees to fill in the spaces between the stamped trees to hide the missing half of his body. Then I added flowers and embellished them with Rose Pink and Bora Bora pearls from Studio Katia.

VIDEO | Simon Hurley create. | Dry Embossing with Stencils to Add Dimension

I have a fun technique video to share with you today! I've always either ink blended with a stencil or dry embossed with a stencil but not both together! I almost never remember to dry emboss with a stencil even though I love the results but now that I've discovered that doing both together makes such an impact, maybe I'll remember. LOL

I used the brand new Snazzy Snowmen stamp set on all three of these cards, swapping out a different snowman for each card. This first card features the brand new Sweater Weather stencil. It's a stunning and innovative stencil because you can use it as is or you can layer it to create beautiful snowflakes.

I dry embossed the stencil first, then matched the embossing with the opposite stencil shape -- big with small and small with big to complete the shape. Doesn't it look amazing? I just love it! The two colours I featured here are the brand new Midnight Snack and Remember Me.

I rock 'n' rolled the snowman's plaid scarf (so cute!) and punched out buttons stamped to match the scarf and background. I heat embossed the sentiment in white, attached the snowman to the ink blended tag and added a white hemp cord bow.

This second card features the Bubble Wrap stencil. It was dry embossed and ink blended with Piggyback and Woof! All of the images were watercolored with coordinating reinkers, fussy cut and assembled.

The Christmas lights were popped up with foam tape in the centre and adhered flat to the snowman's hands. The sentiment was stamped on the raised edges of the dry embossed stencil so there are slight breaks in the letters. I just love the simplicity of this card!

My last card features the Pow! stencil and I masked the bird into the melted snowman. I just love the look on that bird's face! He looks stunned and a little confused as to what happened to his perch. LOL

The two ink colours featured on this card are Minty Fresh and Tropical Tango. Once again, I heat embossed the sentiment in white and added a silver glitter strip to provide an interesting contrast between the image anchor and the dry embossed and stencilled background.

I hope you enjoyed today's inspiration! I'd love to know if you give this technique a try. Please join the Stamping with Simon Hurley create. Facebook Group and tag me in your posts!

Evelin T Designs + 2020 Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop | Mugs & Kisses

What's better than coffee? Cute critters drinking coffee! In fact, Evelin T Designs has a stamp set by that exact name that has recently been restocked - the adorable Coffee Loving Critters (also available at EH | SSS)! My card features the adorable kitty from that set, enjoying her latte in a pink mug with some catnip by her side. LOL

The sentiment is also from Coffee Loving Critters, the little plant is from All Hallow's Cuteness (also available at EH | SSS) and the banner is from Framed, a stamp and die set that Evelin designed for Winnie & Walter. Unfortunately, Winnie & Walter is no longer in business but you might be able to find a secondhand set somewhere out in the crafty universe.

To make this card, I used my MISTI stamping tool to stamp all the images. I created masks to protect all the images, stamping the kitty first, then the plant and finally the banner. I left the masks in place so I could ink blend the background with four Simon Hurley create inks. After blending, I splattered the background with water, white mist and shimmer mist.

I removed the masks and watercolored the images with Simon Hurley create ink refills and you can find the links to all the colours below. To finish the card, I embellished the top and bottom edges using the Essentials by Ellen Stitches Cover Plate and Stitching Lines dies. I also added enamel hearts from my stash and linked to alternates below.

I'm linking this card to the 2020 Spring | Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop and hope you'll play along!

Mother's Day Card from Damian

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers and mother figures out there! I am missing my mom today more than words can say. In fact, I cried all morning and it was several hours before I could even look decent enough for a Mother's Day photo with my son. As difficult as today was, it was definitely a day to be celebrated. My son made me the cutest card using products from Ellen HutsonSimon Hurley createConcord & 9th and Honey Bee Stamps.

Damian used adorable images from Ellen Hutson's Essentials by Ellen line, including All Inside, Bear Ware 4, Bear Ware and Bear Ware 3, to create the most adorable scene. Yes, that's me with my favourite bunny and Damian drinking a Starbucks. I thought he bought me a Starbucks but my husband is sure Damian got it for himself. LOL

Damian combined two sentiments from Simon Hurley create's Supermom! stamp set and he masked off the block-lettered 'mom' and stamped PanPan (my nickname from the We Bare Bears) using Concord & 9th's Perfectly Penned stamp set. Then he used Honey Bee Stamps' Winter Wonder Background stencils to create the background. To finish, he added gold enamel hearts.

VIDEO | Metropolitan High-rise Pups feat. Simon Hurley create.

I'm back with another video for Simon Hurley create. and this card showcases the Puppy Puns Bundle, which includes the Puppy Puns clear stamp set, School Scribbles cling background and Window Maker stencil. See below for a discount code and shop links!

I used the shape of the Window Maker stencil to create masks so I could stamp the School Scribbles cling background as a building with a mural. Then I used the Window Maker stencil itself to sponge in the windows. I used a new ink colour, Minty Fresh, for the entire background.

I stamped all of the pups and accessories from the Puppy Puns clear stamp set using Woof! ink and watercolored all of the images using Woof!Rosy CheeksOver the Moon and another new ink colour, Tropical Tango.

I used the rock and roll technique to stamp the speech bubbles using Rosy Cheeks and Over the Moon. Then I traced the entire School Scribbles background and coloured in the speech bubbles with a sparkle pen.

You can purchase all three products individually, or in the Puppy Puns Bundle! Save 20% off your order by using code SIMON20 at Ranger Ink. All shop links are below.

VIDEO | Winter Birthday Card feat. Simon Hurley create.

I'm so excited to share this fun, humorous birthday card featuring loads of products from Simon Hurley create. I didn't get a chance to use the Caroling Squad stamp set over the holidays and I love the adorable images so much that I thought of a way to use them in a non-Christmas-y way. This was pretty easy, especially with the sentiments from Dudes Too!

I separated one of the kids from the group of three and placed him with two little dogs. Sure, he lost part of his earmuff and shoulder but with the careful placement of the dogs, as well as his position within the frame, no one will ever know!

I used the Classic Flannel background stamp on the polaroid frames and sponged through the Frostbite Stencil. All of the watercoloring, stamping of the frames and stencilling was done using Simon Hurley create ink pads and reinkers.

VIDEO | Underwater Seascape Card feat. Simon Hurley create.

It feels so good to be back making videos! It's been too long so it's no surprise that I'm using Simon Hurley create. products. I have a lot to catch up on! As you know, Simon just had a new release on January 10th and I look forward to showcasing those products as well. For now, I'm starting with his second release.

There are a lot of photos in this post so I won't bore you with too many details since my video is a step-by-step of how I made this card.

I created a watercolored background with the Sea Floor (available at Ranger | Scrapbook.com) rubber cling background stamp. I inked it up with four ink colours and misted it with water before stamping.

Then I stamped and watercolored four images from the Mythical Mermaids (available at Ranger | Scrapbook.com) clear stamp set, using Simon Hurley create. inks. I used all but one of the inks from Simon's first release and you can find the entire list of colours in the supply links below.

I used Simon Hurley create. stark white cardstock (available at Ranger | Scrapbook.com), which is a beautiful, bright white cardstock that is smooth on both sides and holds water extremely well. The fact that it's smooth makes it so easy to stamp on.

Thanks so much for stopping by! See you again soon. :)
