{Paper Smooches} Die Versatility Series: Cupcake and Paint Palette Dies + Video!

Welcome to the second installment in my Die Versatility Series for Paper Smooches! Here, I've used both the Cupcake and Paint Palette dies to create two very different cards. My first birthday card uses the cupcake die in the traditional sense, the leaf die as a divot, and the paint brush as candles. On this card, I've also used the Numbers dies and the Birthday Sampler stamp set.

All of the patterned papers are from Crate Paper. I used the DIY Shop 6x6 paper pad on the birthday card above and the Love Notes 6x6 paper pad on the friendship/love card below.

On this second card, I've turned the cupcake topper into a head and double die cut one end to create the hair. I created the face using stamps from Sunny Side Up and the sentiment from Group Hugs was stamped on stacked Word Bubbles and Speech Bubbles dies.

As I explained in the video, the hair could be used as clouds and the tiny dipped paint die could be used as a whimsical heart so there are plenty of other options to explore with all of these dies.

I hope you're inspired and I'd love to see what you come up with. Just leave a comment with your link and I'll stop by to check it out.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I truly enjoyed your video because I learned several new techniques. Your method of masking the words with washi tape is fabulous. Using the paint brush for candles and cutting pieces for hair is ingenious. I'm going to look at my dies again to see what I can see. Thanks!

Wow, Emily! Such a creative use of your dies, especially for that second card! And you're right, the hair would also work perfectly for big, puffy clouds. Another great video, too. :)
