I'm excited to share more with the new Sealed 3D Botanical Collection from Spellbinders. Since I'm also on the Spellbinders Blog today, I wanted to share a bonus card so I combined the Arch Labels and Tag Dies with the from the Fair Winds Collection by Dawn Woleslagle.
Much like the cards you'll see on the Spellbinders Blog, my colour inspiration comes from the Simple Stories Just Beachy 6x8" Paper Pad. I love the extended size of these patterned papers, which gives more room to work. For example, these stripes are perfectly perpendicular but I wanted them on an angle for more visual interest.
I used the Oh, Buoy! Dies, Set Sail Dies and Fair Winds Sentiments for the main images. The cardstock colours I featured here and match the distressed stripes include Midnight Green (arched label) and Barely Peach (arched labels and sentiment), Snowdrift (seagull, waves), Fog (wings, ropes, waves), Granite, Onyx and Mango (seagulls), Watermelon Pink (breakwater pillars), Sage, Juniper and Midnight Green (buoys, life ring, waves), and Mirror Silver (life ring, waves).
I used a combination of liquid glue, 2mm and 1mm foam squares and foam strips to create dimension and keep the dimension as even as possible. There are a lot of layers on this card! I had so much fun creating this seascape in non-traditional colours and I'll definitely be assembling more seagulls. They're just so cute and fun to create with!
