{Altenew} For the New Mother

Hi, everyone! I'm back with a quick card that cases a previous Altenew card of mine. I needed a baby card for a friend who gave birth to her third child a couple of weeks ago. I haven't made a baby card in a very long time but the Celebrations stamp set had the perfect sentiments.

On the original design, I only used one of the Halftone Circles in the centre, behind all of the images. Here, I featured three smaller halftone circles in Mountain Mist, Pink Diamond and Morning Frost to coordinate with the watercolours.

All of the sentiments and images from Coffee Love and Celebrations were heat embossed and watercoloured with distress inks. I also moved the little coffee cup to the left side as it was originally on the right but didn't work for this particular layout. To embellish, I used sparkling clear sequins in three sizes and added little pearls to their centres.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

{Ellen Hutson} 11th Anniversary Blog Hop: Day 5 + Prizes + Big Anniversary Sale!

I'm so honoured to be hopping with a group of amazingly talented ladies on Day 5 of Ellen Hutson's 11th Anniversary Blog Hop! For this hop, we had to feature our favourite Essentials by Ellen set and I had the hardest time choosing. I've been loving the Bear Ware and Bear Ware 2 sets equally but they complement All Inside so I decided to use them all together. You can't have one without the others!

I created this scene by creating four masks of the kitty from Bear Ware 2. I stamped the kitties in two rows and staggered them since cats would never sit perfectly aligned. Plus, someone brought a pot of catnip (from Bear Ware), which resulted in the large gathering of cats. LOL!

After watercoloring the scene with distress inks, I used dots of colour in two shades of blue and grey, respectively, to create the sky and ground. The bear is popped up with fun foam to give this fun card a bit of dimension.

The custom sentiment was pieced together from three different phrases from Bear Ware 2 and All Inside. I dual-shaded the big 'hugs' in colours to coordinate with the bear and his pink kitty. Heehee!

Be sure to comment on all 30 blog hop stops on the hop this week. {Catherine Pooler Designs} Paradise Found Release Blog Hop: Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of the Paradise Found Release Blog Hop! In case you missed Day 1 and Day 2, head over HERE to get the links for those stops. I have four cards to share today so let's get started!

For my first card, I used the stunning Medallion Mix-Up stamp set, layered with the Small Doily die. Since the design is very simple, I stamped on a linen cardstock panel for more visual interest and texture.

The sentiment is from the latest sold-out Stamp of Approval Winterhaven Collection. All four of the medallion colours are also reflected in the sentiment - Green Tea, Sauna, Eucalyptus and Peppermint Scrub.

For my second card, I once again used the Medallion Mix-Up stamp set but only a single image from that set. I merged the two panels I shared on Instagram to create a layered holiday card. I trimmed the flower centres from the linen cardstock panel and adhered them to the smooth solar white panel.

I slightly off-set them so they add movement to the base image. Then I used Copic markers to colour each white pearl centre to match the first, second and third generation stamping of Peppermint Scrub, Mandarin Spice, Sauna and Eucalyptus inks. The sentiment, stamped with Midnight ink, is  also from the sold-out Stamp of Approval Winterhaven Collection.

My third card features the same two sets as the first card but in a very different way. I used the Small Doily die to dry emboss a panel cut from Catherine Pooler's Premium White Cardstock. Then I stamped four medallions in Juniper Mist, Eucalyptus, Sauna and Mandarin Spice.

I stamped three of the sentiments in coordinating colours. I love the way the ink stamps over the embossed doilies, giving this one-layer card so much visual interest.

My last card uses the Wonderful Time of the Year stamp set. I used the small bough with Eucalyptus ink to create a wreath. Then I stamped the ornament balls in Peppermint Scrub and Sauna and arranged them in a cluster on one corner of the wreath.

I hung the wreath with white silk ribbon and stamped a sentiment from the Stamp of Approval Winterhaven Collection. Then I layered pearls over sparkling clear sequins and adhered them around the wreath.

Be sure to hop along with all of these fantastic ladies for more inspiration and a chance to win one of three $25 gift certificates to the Catherine Pooler Store! Comments close at 11:55 p.m. EST on Friday, November 17, 2017.

{Muse ChristmasVisions} Challenge #89 + 25 Days of Christmas Tags

I'm thrilled to be a guest designer for Muse: ChristmasVisions #89! Our theme this week is snow and we're playing along with Tracey McNeely's annual 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I immediately pulled out Paper Smooches' Cool DudesBorders 1 and Gift Tags 2 to create these snowy tags.

I used a blending tool and two distress inks to create the sky, then splattered it with water to create snowflakes. I love using glitter cardstock for snow hills and I used both silver and white here. All of the images were heat embossed and watercoloured with distress inks.

The sentiments are from another Paper Smooches set called Holiday Cheer, which is one of my favourite sentiment sets for the holiday season! To finish, I embellished the tags with May Arts chevron ribbon, Hemptique cord and two sizes of jingle bells.

Be sure to link up your Muse: Christmas Visions entries HERE for your chance to win Hero Arts' Coffee Cup Tags, and your 25 Days of Christmas Tags entries HERE for a chance to win prizes from the amazing sponsors below. Thanks so much for playing along!
