{Sunny Studio Stamps} Home Run/Slam Dunk Birthday Card by Damian

My son made this card for his classmate who celebrated his birthday this past week. His friend plays in hockey and baseball leagues but is also a huge basketball fan. With the Toronto Raptors doing so well in their first ever NBA Final, who wouldn't be? ;)

Naturally, Damian reached for Sunny Studio Stamps' Team Player and stamped out the trophy, baseball, bat and basketball using the original MISTI stamping tool. Then he used his favourite colouring medium, Prismacolor Premier Pencils.

My favourite part of this card is the way Damian was able to transform the basketball into a Toronto Raptors ball using a Copic multi-liner and fine point Sharpie! My husband and I were so impressed and I know his friend will be, too!!

After the images were coloured and die cut, Damian arrange them in a cluster and picked a combination sentiment. It was a tough choice between "home run" and "slam dunk" since either phrase would've worked for these images. I stamped the sentiment myself since it involved multiple steps with masking.

Finally, the images were adhered to the panel with glue dots and foam tape. The only image Damian wanted popped up was the trophy but he specifically wanted the handle of the bat behind the basketball with the top end leaning against the trophy. The top of the bat is popped up and the bottom is flat on the panel. To finish, we embellished the card with three stars, die cut from silver screen cardstock.

{Two Many Cards Video Series} featuring Sunny Studio Stamps + Giveaway!

Hi, everyone! I'm thrilled to have my friend Ardyth Percy-Robb guesting with me this month for Two Many Cards. If you're new to this series, please visit my original post HERE, which explains how and why we're sharing our own unique take on the same products.

Today, we're so excited to be featuring summer release products from Sunny Studio Stamps, including Slice of Summer stamps and dies, the Wrap Around Box Die and the Summer Splash 6x6 Paper Pad.

I love gift boxes and I'm always looking for new ones. This Wrap Around Box fits the bill perfectly, especially with its width and height. I'm really excited that a stack of cookies will fit into this one. It's perfect for gifting baked goods and end-of-year teacher gifts!

I started by stamping multiples of the layered fruit from Slice of Summer. I absolutely love Mendi's layering stamp sets. They're so realistic and my mouth is watering just looking at these fruit. LOL

Then I cut out panels for the sides and top of the box using papers from the Summer Splash 6x6 Paper Pad. I've always loved collecting patterned paper and I go in phases between not using them and using them a lot! It was a lot of fun using these ones and I can't wait to make more boxes and cards with these bright and happy papers.

I stamped four different custom sentiments on each of the side panels before adhering them to the box and assembling it in 3D form.

To finish, I created a small note tag, enforcing it with a silver glitter heart and attaching it to the box with silver string.

Valentine's Day Teacher Gifts

Yesterday, I posted an in-the-works photo on Instagram for these relatively quick-to-make Valentine's gifts for my son's teachers. For the boxes, I used Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Treat Box, Wplus9's Big Deal Additions and Sunny Studio Stamps' Sending My Love. I customized the sentiment by substituting "person in" from the original Wplus9 sentiment with the word "Valentine" from Sunny Studio.

I stamped the tent on the back of the boxes to complete the little scene. To finish, I filled the boxes with Carnaby heart-shaped chocolates and tied the smallest Paper Smooches Gift Tags 3 tag on to the handle with Lawn Fawn's black hemp cord.

Please visit my latest Instagram post for another look at these cute boxes. Thanks so much for stopping by!

{Sunny Studio Stamps} Happy Easter Wishes

Today is my last post as a design team member for Sunny Studio Stamps. It's been a wonderful six months and it's been a great honour to work for Mendi and her incredible illustrations! Don't worry, I will still continue to create with Sunny Studio Stamps so be sure to continue following along here and on my YouTube channel. :)

I created this watercoloured Easter card by mixing and matching images and sentiments from three sets - Easter Wishes, A Good Egg and Sending My Love. I love how all these sets worked so well together! Mendi's adorable mix-and-match critters have always been my favourite and I featured the bunny here. She's over-seeing the Easter preparations and has two little chick helpers!
