{Two Many Cards Video Series} featuring Waffle Flower: Always + Giveaway!

Hi, everyone! Kalyn and I are back with our video series, Two Many Cards. If you missed our first five videos in this series, check out the original post HERE, which explains how and why we're sharing our own unique take on the same products.

Today, we're featuring the Always Combo from Waffle Flower! The stamp set and coordinating dies are also sold separately. Complete supply links are at the bottom of this post.

I fell in love with this set the moment I saw the lovely girl. The mirrored florals and foliage, sweet bird and mixed font sentiments make this one of the most beautiful sets ever!

All of the images and sentiments were stamped with black pigment ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I watercoloured with Gansai watercolour paints and the full set and individual colours are also listed below.

I recessed the girl by stamping her on the back panel and popping the top panel up with foam tape. I used an x-acto knife to cut a slit above her hairband so I could tuck a flower into her hair. I added some leaves and a second bird under her arm at the base to balance the images with the sentiment that runs along her cascading hair.

I used the mirrored images to create an open wreath. That space represents the person addressed in the sentiment.

I used a pop of yellow in the flowers and on the bird. The red bird on both cards is a nice contrast to the darker colours. I used glue dots to adhere the florals so this card is flatter than the first one.

I love all the possibilities with the individual images in this set. I had a third idea using just the bird on its own and I look forward to sharing that with you in a future post.

{My Favorite Things} Wednesday Sketch Challenge 391

It's my final week as a guest designer for My Favorite Things' Wednesday Sketch Challenge and I hope you'll join in on the fun! At first, I was intimidated by all the squares but thinking of them as a cohesive background makes it easier. Even though there are a lot of pieces, my card is still clean and simple.

I used the smallest die from Square STAX Set 2 but if you don't have square dies, you can use a paper trimmer to create your own or look for a square inside any other die-namics. I sponged two sides of each square, three squares in varying shades of blue. These are the same shades I used to stamp the flowers from Adorned Ocean Friends.

Once I laid out the squares on the panel, I stamped the bird from Just Beclaws, and the butterfly and cat from Meow Mix. I used the same shades of blue ink to stamp an ombre WOW from You Wow Me. Then I stamped the secondary sentiment over top in black to connect all of the black outline images.

After adhering the squares to the panel, I stamped and die cut the flowers and popped them up with foam tape. To finish, I added a few sparkling clear sequins in three sizes.

I hope you'll play along with us this week! Simply link up your creations HERE for a chance to win a $50 gift voucher to spend at the My Favorite Things store. Thanks so much for stopping by!

{My Favorite Things} Wednesday Sketch Challenge 390

I'm back with a card for My Favorite Things' Wednesday Sketch Challenge and it's another fun one! I'm really loving this month's sketches. They are simple and, for me, that means a lot of versatility to play outside of the box. Instead of using squares, I decided to use my A2 Rectangle STAX Set 2 to create the frames for my scenes!

Since there were two boxes, I split my scenes with a beach at the top and an underwater scene below. I stamped the coral and layered flowers from Adorned Ocean Friends. The sentiment and pelican are from Beach Buds, and the pelican was coloured with Copic markers to coordinate with the rest of the scene.

Then I used Die-namics Surf & Turf with masking paper to sponge in the sand and water waves on to both sets of framed rectangles. I die cut a second set of rectangle frames and a pelican using craft-a-board and adhered the layers with glossy accents, which I also used to adhere the frames to the card base.

To finish, I attached the flowers to the edges of the frame with glue dots and chomped the bottom right corner to add a bit of softness to the overall look since there are so many corners between the card base and two frames.

I hope you'll play along with us this week! Simply link up your creations HERE for a chance to win a $50 gift voucher to spend at the My Favorite Things store. Thanks so much for stopping by!

{Two Many Cards Video Series} featuring Stampin' Up! Foxy Friends + Giveaway!

Hi, everyone! Kalyn and I are back with our video series, Two Many Cards. If you missed our first four videos in this series, check out the original post HERE, which explains how and why we're sharing our own unique take on the same products.

Today, we're featuring Stampin' Up! Foxy Friends and Fox Builder Punch. This is a fun, versatile set with 29 images that can make cards for every occasion, year-round! We're also featuring the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, Nature's Poem Cardstock Pack and Nature's Twine Pack. These products and their colours and textures all work so well with our featured products.

I love this set so much that once I got started, I got carried away and made three cards with three very different layouts. As you can see, the possibilities are endless with this stamp set, especially by changing colours and sentiments!

I used cats as my feature animal because I have so many cat lovers in my life and I could always use more cat cards in my stash. This first one uses a traditional layout of repeating images.

I used inks that coordinated with the colours in the Nature's Poem Cardstock Pack to stamp nine cat heads. Then I arranged them on a panel embossed with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, and embellished with twine from the Nature's Twine Pack.

The idea for my second card spun off from the three extra heads that were stamped for the first card. I added bodies and tails to create a little trio of kitties. Then I stamped some cute, tiny mushrooms to finish the scene.

You can see how tilting the heads and adding the legs in the front makes a difference in the look and personality of the cats.

Both the sentiments from the first two cards are from a Paper Smooches stamp set called Many Thanks and the flag tag die is from My Favorite Things' Blueprints 29.

My third card doesn't have a sentiment but makes an impact without one because of the details on the cat and the pearl embellishments I added to the laurels. I used the spotted head, bibbed torso and white-tipped tail to make this lone kitty unique.

Since this panel is flat and the card base is the palest of the three cards, all the white space and pearls on the laurels really makes the kitty pop.

I really enjoyed playing with these beautiful products! Stampin' Up! was one of my first loves when I started stamping more than a decade ago.
