Ellen Hutson | 12 Tags of Christmas 2021 + Challenge + Giveaways

Hello, crafty friends! Have you been following along with Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas 2021 tradition? Every year from December 1st to 12th, there's inspiration on the blog by way of Brand Ambassador and Guest Designer projects to inspire your holiday tag making! This year, the tags are inspired by a different Christmas carol each day.

So far, I made two tags inspired by the Sneak Peek Day: Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree and Day 1: Christmas in a Coffee Shop. I had recently acquired a couple new sets and they were perfect for these two tags. Made This For You has so many great images, including a little Christmas tree and coffee up, plus I love the modern style of this set. I'm a huge fan of Christine Herrin, the illustrator behind this set, and her company Everyday Explorers Co. I apologize in advance if you head over there and end up spending a ton of money. LOL

After stamping the images in Bay Breeze and Mint To Be, I used the coordinating Made This For You Dies to cut out the images, popping them on sentiments stamped in Juniper Mist and Rockin' Red. I die cut those using the Tag Trio, also designed by Christine and layered them on glitter silver cardstock.

For the tree tag, I die cut the rectangular tag from Tag Trio and stamped details using the Painted Stripes stamp set and Rockin' Red and Mint To Be inks. Then I taped all of the Stitching Lines dies together and added texture to the remaining white part of the tag.

For the coffee tag, I die cut the rectangular tag from Tag Trio using Whirlypop cardstock and added texture using the A2 Piercing Plate. Then I stamped five hearts from Made This For You in Bay Breeze and Mint To Be and added those to the base of the tag as a wonky border.

I secured the round and rectangular tags together using denim ribbon from my stash and metallic silver string. I also added a crystal clear heart embellishment on the top of the coffee cup. Both tags are layered with a second die cut so they open up and a festive message can be written inside.

Link up your tags HERE for a chance to win a $100 gift certificate to Ellen Hutson! You can also win one of three $25 gift certificates by commenting on each featured post during the inspiration days!

Last-Minute Gift Wrap feat. We R Memory Keepers

On Christmas morning, I realized I hadn't bought tins to hold baked goods for the neighbours! My We R Memory Keepers Gift Box Punch Board saved the day. I made the largest box I could, using My Mind's Eye 12" x 12" Sugar Plum Collection, which I was lucky to have hoarded. It's now retired so I've linked up to two other options below (Holly Jolly | Happy Days). I tied up the boxes with Stampin' Up! Nature's Twine. So quick and easy! The finished boxes were 4" x 4" and held two slices of cranberry streusel coffee cake and six cookies, two each of three varieties.

{Technique Tuesday} November 2018 Release Countdown: Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of Technique Tuesday's November 2018 Release Countdown! The design team is featuring a variety of release products and you're sure to love them so be sure to head over to the Technique Tuesday blog for the full reveal and links to all of the amazing projects. All of the product links will go live on November 1, 2018 for your shopping pleasure.

Today, I'm showcasing the gorgeous Perfect Poinsettia stamp set and coordinating dies. This is obviously the must-have floral for the holidays! It also has the three best sentiments to customize your cards for friends who are picky about their greetings.

I heat embossed the image and watercoloured with distress inks (all colours are linked below). I dry embossed the white panel with a wood plank embossing folder and heat embossed the sentiment on that. Then I wrapped gold metallic string around it and popped up the poinsettia with foam tape. I used multi-medium matte to adhere the string to the panel and the flower. That made me nervous but I love how it looks, permanently curved! To finish, I added a few gold sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by! See you tomorrow for Release Day!

{Two Many Cards Video Series} featuring Stampin' Up! Foxy Friends + Giveaway!

Hi, everyone! Kalyn and I are back with our video series, Two Many Cards. If you missed our first four videos in this series, check out the original post HERE, which explains how and why we're sharing our own unique take on the same products.

Today, we're featuring Stampin' Up! Foxy Friends and Fox Builder Punch. This is a fun, versatile set with 29 images that can make cards for every occasion, year-round! We're also featuring the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, Nature's Poem Cardstock Pack and Nature's Twine Pack. These products and their colours and textures all work so well with our featured products.

I love this set so much that once I got started, I got carried away and made three cards with three very different layouts. As you can see, the possibilities are endless with this stamp set, especially by changing colours and sentiments!

I used cats as my feature animal because I have so many cat lovers in my life and I could always use more cat cards in my stash. This first one uses a traditional layout of repeating images.

I used inks that coordinated with the colours in the Nature's Poem Cardstock Pack to stamp nine cat heads. Then I arranged them on a panel embossed with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, and embellished with twine from the Nature's Twine Pack.

The idea for my second card spun off from the three extra heads that were stamped for the first card. I added bodies and tails to create a little trio of kitties. Then I stamped some cute, tiny mushrooms to finish the scene.

You can see how tilting the heads and adding the legs in the front makes a difference in the look and personality of the cats.

Both the sentiments from the first two cards are from a Paper Smooches stamp set called Many Thanks and the flag tag die is from My Favorite Things' Blueprints 29.

My third card doesn't have a sentiment but makes an impact without one because of the details on the cat and the pearl embellishments I added to the laurels. I used the spotted head, bibbed torso and white-tipped tail to make this lone kitty unique.

Since this panel is flat and the card base is the palest of the three cards, all the white space and pearls on the laurels really makes the kitty pop.

I really enjoyed playing with these beautiful products! Stampin' Up! was one of my first loves when I started stamping more than a decade ago.

4th Annual Season's Givings Blog Hop + Giveaways!!!

Happy New Year and welcome to the Season's Givings Blog Hop! Latisha Yoast started this annual hop three years ago to celebrate the spirit of giving over the holidays and I'm thrilled to be part of it again this year. Every single company or designer on the list below has a giveaway! All you need to do is visit their blogs and leave a comment. Grab your favourite beverage, a snack or two, and start hopping!

Using the MISTI stamping tool, I was able to make a gift card set in no time at all! I cut all the white panels, positioned the facing pandas and sentiment on the inside cover, inked them up and stamped them all in the exact same position. So cool!

This set was for friends who just had a baby and I thought some thank you cards would be really handy! Of course, I had to impose my love of pandas on them. ;) I used a rainbow of card bases so they can choose based on the recipient's tastes.

Here's the full list of hop participants:
