Spellbinders | May 2021 Clear Stamp of the Month

Hello, crafty friends! I'm back with another card featuring the Spellbinders May 2021 Clear Stamp of the Month. Also featured are two of the border dies from the May 2021 Large Die of the Month and it's a beauty. If you're like me, you'll be excited to see that Spellbinders has released another set of stitching dies!

I knew I wanted to create an angled panel in the centre of my card and repeat one of the bold thank you sentiments from the Spellbinders May 2021 Clear Stamp of the Month. To highlight the sentiment, I used the seven stitched blooms with the coordinating border on the top and bottom of the centre panel. Using the white panel, I also die cut a coordinating panel in gold mirror cardstock but I made it slightly longer so it would peek out at the top and bottom when adhered behind the white panel.

I stamped the repeating sentiment in the same colours I chose for stitching. I used Catherine Pooler inks in Coral CabanaSauna and Bay Breeze (one of the four *NEW* colours available on May 12, 2021).
I used Neenah heavyweight 110lb cardstock for this stitching panel and it worked out very well. I wouldn't recommend anything lighter, especially if you are adding multiple layers and french knots.

If you click on the photo below to enlarge it, you'll see that I used one thread each of light coral and dark coral to give the flowers more dimension and visual interest. After stitching all of the flowers, I went back with Bay Breeze coloured thread at the five smaller points in each of the flowers. Then I used the Sauna-coloured thread to add french knots in the centres. I secured all the loose ends in the back with Scor-Tape--lots of it!

To finish, I trimmed a piece of patterned paper from PinkFresh Studio's retired Let Your Heart Decide 6x6 paper pad that coordinated beautifully with the Sauna elements on the card and attached that to the card base. If you're interested in purchasing something similar, I've linked to an alternate in the supply links below. Then I secured both the white and gold mirror layers on the card and added a few gold foil pearls

Thanks so much for stopping by!
