{Two Many Cards Video Series} Newton's Nook Designs featuring Cup of Cocoa + Giveaways!

Hi, everyone! Kalyn and I are back with our video series, Two Many Cards. If you missed our other videos in this series, check out the original post HERE, which explains how and why we're sharing our own unique take on the same products.

Today, we're featuring Cup of Cocoa and Fancy Edges Tag Dies by Newton's Nook Designs! I'm into all sorts of beverage stamp sets, especially when they're this cute. These images make me wish I had real mugs that looked just like them.

I love crafting Christmas tags and I wanted to make notecard tags that open up to reveal a handwritten message. These are perfect for little gifts in lieu of cards, like when I share baked goods with my neighbours.

These tags pack a punch with the vibrant images against the kraft cardstock and the added red glitter cardstock at the top and bottom.

Plain white hemp cord coordinates nicely with the white edges of the images.

These tags were so fun to make and it would be easy to mix and match additional images in different colours with the other fancy edges to create a whole stack for gift-giving.

Today, I'm showcasing the beautiful Luscious Grapes stamp set. I heat embossed the grapes with sparkle embossing powder on a full A2 panel and watercoloured it with distress inks (all colours are linked below).

I used the Luscious Grapes Dies to partially die cut just the top of the image, then cut across horizontally to the edge of the panel on both sides, removing the top third of the panel.

I used two sheets of patterned paper from a retired Crate Paper 6x6 paper pad called Notes and Things. I especially love the faux ombre cork strip, perfect for representing the wine that comes from grapes, especially with the birthday sentiment! The angled stripes are a nice contrast to the cork pattern.

To finish, I embellished the card with iridescent bubbles.

Thanks so much for stopping by! See you tomorrow for Release Day!

{Technique Tuesday} October 2018 Release Countdown: Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of Technique Tuesday's October 2018 Release Countdown! The design team is featuring a variety of release products and you're sure to love them so be sure to head over to the Technique Tuesday blog for the full reveal and links to all of the amazing projects. Today, I'm showcasing the String of Lights stamp set, which is an adorable 3" x 4" stamp set that consists of two stamps and five awesome sentiments. It's small but goes a long way! I stamped the string of lights five times on an angle using my MISTI stamping tool.

I coloured the lights with Copic markers, using three shades of each colour, and adding a very light fourth colour on the outside to give them a "glow". I stamped the sentiment using ombre neon red to purple ink and framed it using the Things Change stamp set and the Captions and Labels Dies.

I layered the String of Lights panel with a vellum layer and I also used the Mandala Maker Die to dry emboss the corners on the linen base panel for a lovely texture. To finish, I brushed the lights with Wink of Stella and added July Crystals to the red lights.

See you tomorrow for Day 2 of the October Release Countdown!

{Technique Tuesday} Whale Hello, Santa

Hi, everyone! I have a fun holiday card using September's Wendell the Whale with four older sets. Imagine my delight when I discovered that the hat from Dear Santa was perfectly proportioned to fit on Wendell. Isn't he so cute as Santa? I was able to combine sentiments from both sets to create a unique one for the card.

The two big fish are from Olive the Octopus and the two little fish (stamped and coloured twice) are from Sassy Love Your Guts. I also loved that I was able to find multiple fish in different sizes from other sets. The gorgeous waves were made using the On the Waves Border Die.

All of the stamping was heat embossed, and the images and background were watercoloured and sponged with distress inks (colours linked below). To finish, I added clear round drops to the surface of the water.
